AI does not stall in the model. It stalls in the operating model.
Today's models are capable. The bottleneck is process and governance.
What moves the needle: feedback loops, governance, metrics, decision cadence, supported by platform engineering.
Not a strategy. An operating model.
From May 2026, I take this on as Chief AI Officer at Zühlke.

A Swiss doctor vibe-coded a patient system with an AI agent. Thirty minutes to full access to every record. Not democratization of software. Democratization of liability.
New Cybernetic CxO: AI is an exoskeleton, not a coworker. Discipline beats intelligence at Wix, Vercel, Amazon. The real GenAI ROI story (HBR says 9%). And why your semantic layer is not enough.

$750 billion invested in AI. "Most jobs fully automatable in 18 months." That is not a warning. That is a sales pitch.
New Cybernetic CxO edition: the AI jobs myth vs. the data, McKinsey validates the Cybernetic Enterprise, METRO runs it in production, and AI agents that lie and sabotage each other (Stanford/Harvard paper).
Signals and operating model for production-grade AI.

93% technology. 7% people and process. That budget split is quietly killing most AI programs.
New edition of The Cybernetic CxO is live. This month: why your AI budget is in the wrong place, why I canceled my ChatGPT subscription, 8 AI predictions for 2026, the Agentic vs. Cybernetic Enterprise debate, and why my most-read post (11K views) had nothing to do with AI.
Signals and operating model for production-grade AI.

🌴👩💻 Prepping my "AI Augmented DevOps" presentation in paradise...
... Not really, I'm on holiday! 🌄 Reality check: those dreamy remote work spots? Often more distraction than focus. 😖
Do scenic spots really mix productivity with paradise, or just look good on social media? What do you think?

Pipelines are not getting smarter. They are becoming agents.
At Elastic, Claude Code fixed 24 broken builds in one month. GitLab Duo shipped "Fix CI/CD pipeline flow" as a foundational agent. Microsoft formalised the Observe, Analyze, Act loop.
DORA 2026: AI amplifies the quality of the engineering system it operates within. Strong foundations turn agents into delivery speed. Weak ones turn them into faster, more confident bugs.
-
I write CLAUDE.md files every week. Most of what I write will be obsolete in six months.
That is not a complaint. It is the bitter lesson of AI applied to every enterprise harness.
Rules are scaffolding. Principles are load-bearing walls.

44% of Gen Z admit sabotaging their employer's AI strategy. Across US, UK, and Europe: 30%.
This is not a discipline problem. It is a design problem.
AI is being done to people, not designed with them. Robomobbing is feedback. The fix is co-design with the people at the edge.

88% of organisations use AI. Single-digit percent have agents in production. That gap is the business story of 2026.
The new Stanford AI Index 2026 finds productivity gains land where work has clear feedback loops and quality monitoring. The model is not the bottleneck. The organisation around it is.
Exactly the thesis of The Cybernetic Enterprise.

Friday Fun 🤣
What happens in the Management meeting
#fun #humor #meme #fridayfun #fridayhumor -
When every push delivers value, you don't need roadmaps, you need runway.
Continuous Delivery keeps the build ready to ship. Continuous Deployment ships it. No approval, no window, no CAB.
The pipeline is the easy part. The hard part is leadership giving up the signature.

1% disclosed AI involvement. 16% value loss. The damage is not proportional, it is at the boundary.
A new University of Chicago Booth study ran real-money art auctions with 351 bidders. The 0% to 1% AI step was 5x more damaging than the 25% to 50% step. Adding 1% human touch to a 100% AI work boosted value by 27%.
Disclosure wisdom is backwards. The first 1% is the most expensive 1%.
