The State provides food, security, services. In return it asks those who can, contribute more and individualistic people complain. What do the Lanwin’s uniquely contribute to the Country to deserve special political treatment?
Risk, reward.
You want more risk, I say your failure is not securing more funding to make a better product to sell more in Aus. Cant get funding Aus? Yeah, that’s the risk adverse business culture of Aus. Dig a hole, get money. Build something, a big NO. You would most likely have left anyway, the traditional port being SV.
Good luck and know that .ie has a similar housing problem as Aus AND a history of sectarian violence with soggy weather.

Judging by the number of "breaks" I've been taking all afternoon, I seem to be a bit irked and anxious about my writing -->revising -->formatting -->publishing workflow.
Seems unnecessarily clunky and cumbersome(this also includes the sudden, inexplicable loss of any spelling ability I may have, previously, possessed).
Hopefully, this year, I can improve on the process.

I was dreaming heavily when the weather alert radio woke me up…
To tell me that there was a severe thunderstorm watchA watch.
Just a watch.

I'm reading a student paper where the expression 'at the behest of' is used repeatedly to mean 'at the expense of', and it's getting on my nerves.

Who remembers the minor Gods of Queenstown tourism whinging about lockdown and screaming for our borders to reopen? Yep... them.
Last week QT hospo was calling for the government to provide accomodation for their workers.
This time it's Blair Impey, CEO of the Republic Hospitality Group which operates nine establishments in QT. He blames our PM for the chef shortgage. (Doh!)
The actual problem is AirBnB + Covid.

CW: Christmas/Yule
So I know that Christmas/Yule is supposed to be all about the gift GIVING. But I think the hardest part about being an adult was getting used to not receiving presents.
I usually get one present for Christmas and one for my birthday.
But those are the only presents I receive. I am 55 years old. I should be used to not receiving presents. But it's hard to not be disappointed when I put so much thought into presents for others.

My recipe testers are getting miffed with me. I'm in the fatigued stage of postC19 (cleaned a bathroom yday and then needed a 2hr nap afterwards). I've been craving cookies and want to bake some. My testers tell me NO: I'm to rest and I should just buy cookies. I did, today. I can only taste the preservatives. They taste like sadness.

CW: Politics, Voting, and people Whinging
I don't understand the mentality behind people being upset about getting text messages reminding them to vote. It's literally one of the easiest forms of communication to ignore, and honestly if it means even one more person gets to the polls that wouldn't have, I'm willing to get 200 text messages. It's democracy, quit treating it like it's some kind of burden.

Having annoying neighbors is a nightmare, noise, screaming kids, noise, 2 big barking dogs who defend the fence like it's the border of some tinpot dictator..
For most of today it's been peaceful in our garden now as the evening kicks in I've got a BBQ on 🔥 fire (not the intended kind), a menagerie of kids screaming over cakes and falling over, no choice in the music I listen to, and ongoing conversation which I can only wonder do you understand how the economy works?

I've been on tumblr a long time. Since May 2011. I've seen, and posted, some great stuff there. And honestly, a lot of crap as well.
This morning, out of the first 25 items in my tumblr feed, 9 were ads or algorithm prompts (follow this account! check out this trending tag!) When more than 1/3 of your content is unwanted garbage, how is your platform sustainable?
Tumblr is one of the last social sites I still use, but it may be time to leave.
