I’m so sick today =( Feels like food poisoning. I even got a low-grade fever. Tried to write some code for my pet project but quickly gave up. Tea, old movies, and a blanket are my friends for today. And my wife, who provides all of this.

Was supposed to take off at 730a, have one stop, and get to my destination at like 11a.

Now I'm taking off at 1030a, have two stops, and don't arrive at my destination until 10p.

'Fun' day of plane hopping and sitting around airports all day to travel ~900 miles. I could just about drive in the same amount of time.

At least im leaving through a small airport that isn't filled with ICE FUCKS.

WABA awards and forgotten speeches

8 years ago today, WABA gave me an award for whining on X (Formerly known as Twitter). I shared the award with the DDOT Public Space team, largely who I was whining to/about.

I gave a great speech, apparently. I have no recollection of this speech. My wife does not believe I gave one.

Unfortunately, we haven’t really progressed from there in terms of protecting bike lanes. DDOT still does not provide Safe Accommodations when cyclist and/or pedestrian infrastructure needs to be blocked for construction, despite the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Amendment Act of 2016 telling them to do so.

Oh, well. Maybe in another ten years.

Man, my allergies are terrible today, and I have no idea why. All the pollen and mold levels for Portland are reportedly low. But I'm sneezing in my nose is running like a faucet in my head is clogged and my thinking is vague and the meds I've taken aren't working and I may need to turn to old school Benadryl soon, which will make me drunker than a couple of Old Fashioneds. #whining #PityMe #pdx

Insomnia. Haven't slept properly in a week. Have been trying to sleep for 5 hours. Up & taking a break from trying to sleep now. Was barely functional yesterday. I think I'll call in sick today. I can barely keep a coherent thought in my head. Concentrating for more than thirty seconds escapes me.

#whining It absolutely pisses me off that Windows, after X years of development (where X is longer than many of their end users have been alive) has no way to indicate that "bluetooth device XYZ24" is NOT a headphone and doesn't need volume warnings or headphone-specific surround processing.

Completely removing all control from the end users is, well, very 2025 isn't it? We love authority.

Why is zooming and scrolling with pictures so bad with #Mastodon's official web interface on #mobile?

The only thing more annoying is the truly fucked up "assistance" when entering hashtags.
