Due to the long drought this year in Spain there are far fewer insects and arachnids than in previous years, and therefore it is also much more difficult to find predators such as this beautiful Argiope bruennichi wasp spider.

Debido a la larga sequía de este año en España se ven muchos menos insectos y arácnidos que años anteriores, y por tanto es también mucho más difícil encontrar a los depredadores como esta hermosa araña tigre Argiope bruennichi.

Wegen der lang anhaltenden Trockenheit in Spanien gibt es in diesem Jahr viel weniger Insekten und Arachniden zu sehen als in den Vorjahren, und deshalb ist es auch viel schwieriger, Raubtiere wie diese schöne Argiope bruennichi Wespenspinne zu finden.

I don't use a white case on the iPhone just for aesthetic reasons. I chose it that color because the smartphone gets less hot in the sun and because I found that reflecting sunlight at close range helps me to compensate for backlight in some macro shots.

No uso una funda blanca en el iPhone sólo por motivos estéticos. La elegí de ese color porque el smartphone se calienta menos al sol y porque descubrí que al reflejar la luz del sol a corta distancia me ayuda a contrarestar el controluz en algunas fotos macro.

Ich verwende für mein iPhone nicht nur aus ästhetischen Gründen eine weiße Hülle. Ich habe mich für diese Farbe entschieden, weil sich das Smartphone in der Sonne nicht so sehr aufheizt und weil ich festgestellt habe, dass die reflektierte Sonneneinstrahlung im Nahbereich bei einigen Makroaufnahmen hilft, Gegenlicht auszugleichen.

Last night I tried this bluetooth smartphone grip with fill light lamp (there are several very similar models from different brands). In some cases it can be useful for me, especially when I can only use one hand to take the photos. In this case, this wasp spider (Argiope bruennichi) didn't seem to react to the light but I tried it later with a Cyrtophora citricola and it did seem to scare it.

Anoche probé esta empuñadura bluetooth para smartphone con lámpara de luz de relleno (hay varios modelos muy similares de diferentes marcas). En algunos casos puede serme útil, especialmente cuando sólo puedo usar una mano para hacer las fotos. En este caso, esta araña tigre (Argiope bruennichi) no pareció reaccionar a la luz pero probé más tarde con una Cyrtophora citricola y si que pareció asustarle.

Gestern Abend habe ich diese Bluetooth-Smartphone-Halterung mit Fülllichtlampe ausprobiert (es gibt mehrere sehr ähnliche Modelle von verschiedenen Marken). In manchen Fällen kann sie für mich nützlich sein, besonders wenn ich nur eine Hand zum Fotografieren benutzen kann. In diesem Fall schien diese Wespenpinne (Argiope bruennichi) nicht auf das Licht zu reagieren, aber ich versuchte es später mit einer Cyrtophora citricola und es schien sie zu erschrecken.

August arrives and with it the Argiope bruennichi or wasp spiders that I think are the most striking by size and color that you can find in Europe. I have photographed this female in her usual position on her web next to a pond in a park in Valencia.

Llega el mes de agosto y con éste las Argiope bruennichi o arañas tigre que creo que son las más llamativas por tamaño y colorido que puedes encontrar en Europa. He fotografiado ésta hembra en su posición habitual sobre su telaraña junto al estanque de un parque de Valencia.

Der August ist da und mit ihm kommen die Argiope bruennichi oder Wespenspinnen, die meiner Meinung nach die auffälligsten in Größe und Farbe sind, die man in Europa finden kann. Ich habe dieses Weibchen in ihrer üblichen Position auf ihrem Netz neben einem Teich in einem Park in Valencia fotografiert.
