Camp Souveraineté, at km 134 on the Parent Road, is located on the unceded ancestral territory belonging to hereditary chiefs Robert Echaquan and Jean-Paul Echaquan. The site is a space for monitoring and protecting protected areas and for defending ancestral rights, which necessarily requires consultation with hereditary chiefs before any form of resource extraction.

In addition to maintaining continuous monitoring against illegal logging, the land defenders are building facilities to welcome Atikamekw people living in nearby towns who wish to reconnect with their roots.
Some have left their communities to work in municipalities and now have limited access to ancestral Nehirowisiw Aski knowledge.

This place of transmission is open to all who wish to reconnect with their language and identity.

Concert bénéfice pour la pérennité du plus vieil espace anarchiste de Montréal

Depuis 1982, le 2033-2035 boulevard Saint-Laurent est un espace vital pour l’anarchisme à Montréal (Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang). À l’époque, des militantes et militants libertaires fondent l’Association des espèces d’espaces libres et imaginaires (AEELI) dans le but de mettre la main sur le bâtiment qui abrite, aujourd’hui, trois projets anarchistes : l’espace social autogéré féministe et queer Les Révoltes, la bibliothèque DIRA et la librairie l’Insoumise. L’AEELI a comme mission la diffusion des idées libertaires, notamment grâce au développement d’une librairie anarchiste à Montréal. Lors de la fondation de l’association, la librairie portait le nom Librairie l’Alternative, ouverte en 1973. Depuis les vingt dernières années, c’est la librairie l’Insoumise qui a pris le relais. Fondée en 2004, elle est ouverte au public six jours par semaine. Et, depuis 2005, la bibliothèque DIRA occupe le troisième étage de l’immeuble.

Les communautés qui fréquentent ce mythique bâtiment anarchiste sont nombreuses. Chaque année, des gens de partout visitent tant sa librairie que sa bibliothèque. Les anarchistes profitent énormément de ces lieux : on y organise régulièrement des activités, des projections, des célébrations et des fêtes.

Mais pour que le 2033-2035 boulevard Saint-Laurent demeure un centre permanent, accueillant et central pour le milieu anarchiste montréalais, il faut aujourd’hui effectuer les travaux nécessaires à sa conservation et à son rayonnement. Le bâtiment actuel a besoin de beaucoup d’amour et de travaux majeurs. La façade, la vitrine et le mur arrière du bâtiment, les fenêtres du deuxième et du troisième étage ainsi que la salle de bain de la librairie nécessitent d’importantes rénovations évaluées à plus de 200 000 $. L’Association des espèces d’espaces libres et imaginaires n’a toutefois pas les fonds requis pour y arriver seule. Elle doit aujourd’hui lancer un appel à votre soutien.

Pour assurer la pérennité de cet espace de vie, de joie, de colère, de manigances, d’organisation, de débat et de partage des connaissances, dont les trois étages et sa célèbre cour profitent aux communautés anarchistes, nous lançons un appel à la solidarité. Que ce centre de diffusion des idées libertaires, toutes tendances confondues, poursuive sa mission à jamais!

À la pérennité du plus vieil espace anarchiste de Montréal !

As the Israeli military operation in Gaza is still ongoing and the conflict has spread to other countries in the Middle East, for Yell Out 2025, we intend to send a large portion of the festival profits towards humanitarian causes in this region to support the people suffering from the acts of power, religion and violence. The brutal consequences of war leave no one safe and force people and their families to be displaced, and women and girls are extremely exposed to all kinds of risks and suffer from the lack of access to supplies, services, and resources.
