well well well, look what we have here!

the good parts: this is uzu/dough.c, running entirely on the esp32s3 and synthesising audio as instructed by OSC message strings, woohoo! (only one voice, no delay, and no reverb due to memory constraints. i need to work on those).

pitch should be 880Hz, it is clearly not. that's either because im clocking the output wrong or theres filtering going on in my clearly very good output stage... (output is sigma-delta modulation by the way, there's no DAC on here, it turns out). i expect its how im clocking it, job for later.

there's also some clicking, presumably where i am or am not looping around some buffer too soon, need to fix that too...

next stage is ordering some I2S -> DAC/AMP ICs so i can listen to this in stereo and nicely, fixing the above issues, and uh, writing an uzulang to run on this thing? TinyTidal... hmm...

overall im very happy with this progress! considering this is my second embedded project, first in C, first audio electronics project in 10 years &c. &c... very much a newb to everything here.

The big snowstorm this week has made it really easy to stay home and work on computer projects. Yeah I am vibe coding things a bit, but also learning about docker and codeberg and node.js in the process.

Is there a really good way to make a raspberry pi or other linux SBC servve a captive portal webpage of its own when not able to find a known wifi connection? I basically want to be able to change network manager over a webpage. Sometimes it works, but not on all wifi networks. Is RPi connect worth looking into? It would be nice to not be bound to a single company.

I cant be the only person with this issue, But I shall keep tinkering away at it. I ultimately want to make interconnected sculptures that run little webservers to control neon.

Also the snow has been very good for baking. Bread 43 was inspired by a Sundried tomato, pesto, burrata Ali had the other day. I shall bake the third mini loaf of it tonight :)
