  1. Trig point above Ravenheugh Crags in from this afternoon. I'd walked from Stonehaugh, following the road and then a public byway... it was a little bit muddy!! 🤣

  2. 5 trig points, 31km and nearly 1000m. Mostly lovely weather until the snow moved in. Got to cheer on the leaders in the #spinerace too… pics of them in next post. #ultrarunning #running #trigbagging #FellRunning

  3. Busy day trig bagging in the Newcastle area 🤣 4 trigs bagged! One was in a private garden but I knocked on the door and was kindly taken through the garage to see it #TrigPillar #TrigBagging #TrigPoint

  4. Bagged my 81st #TrigPillar today which means they fit nicely in a 9 x 9 layout. #TrigBagging

  5. Today's trig for #trigpillartuesday is North Daren in the Black Mountains bagged in July 2016 with Dexter & Crosby #trigbagging #trigpillar

  6. Just realised I missed #trigpillartuesday yesterday 😩 so here is a late entry Rhiw Arw in the Black Mountains bagged in July 2016 #trigbagging

  9. Tuesday Trail Run round Stalybridge moorland and reservoirs. I would say the view was lovely but there was an eiree fog and couldn't see more than about 10 metres in front of me most of the time!

I didn't know collecting Trig Points was a thing before seeing it on here, so I might try and do a bit of that on my adventures now.

  11. For #TodaysWalk I once again braved the Norwood Gulch but this time clambered up into Norbury and to the tippy top of Pollard's Hill, notching up another win in my #TrigBagging odyssey.

There I found a bench, inviting weary travellers to cool their heels, and a fine view of the Croydon transmitter tower (arrowed). It is smaller than the Crystal Palace tower (solid arrow), but looks bigger here, on account of it being nearer and behind a smaller tree.

  12. I recently discovered that #TrigBagging was a thing, so I went out and bagged one on #TodaysWalk.

I found it at Hilly Fields, an area of open space in the London Borough of Lewisham that's partly occupied by a private school but mostly occupied by water.

There may be higher peaks in the area but few, I reckon, can boast exactly the same view.

  13. Glorious day. Perfect running weather. An inch of yesterdays snow. Heavy hoar frost on the grass. Sun couldn’t quite break the bank of cloud but kept trying leaving a glorious eerie light over the landscape. 16km over a couple of hours with another 500m of climbing added to the annual total. And the ground/peat bogs were frozen - bonus!

  17. Friday morning run was clear for first time all week. And no school run today means a few extra km to end the week. Nice scenes with the cloud rolling in and Manchester skyline peaking through it in the distance.

  21. @danielstucke there are a few of us sharing #trigpoints but we seem to be using different hashtags. #TrigBagging need to pick one! There is a #TrigPointTuesday too I think

  22. Nice to get 2nd 10km run in for the weekend. Good to see reservoirs almost full again after drought but we're still down a lot of water. Came home with dry feet which shouldn't be possible after the amount of rain we've had. For today's #Mosstodon we have the amazing Sphagnum Moss which carpets the moors around here and soaks up our rain like a sponge. Sadly lots damaged by moorland fires. #TrigBagging - please share you trig point images! #running #saddleworth

  23. This is the trig point on the Isle of #Texa. An uninhabited island near #Islay #Scotland. We had to hire a boat to take us and also a guide to help us find the #TrigPoint trekking across the high bracken on the island where wild goats live. A fab day in September. #Hiking #Exploring #TrigBagging
