Sewingshields trig point from this morning... trying not to look cold!! 🤣 It was just fingers (mainly thumbs) that were the problem, and this could be related to a combo of strong/cold winds and Pacer-Poles? Fabulous route though, from Housesteads to Sewingshields, looping up around Haughton Common, and joining the Pennine Way back to the Wall. Beyond Housesteads, we only met farmers and sheepdogs all day! 😅

Yesterday afternoon's boxing day walk became a bit of a race against sunset! This is with my current default setup: Sony A7cII and a Viltrox 20mm prime fitted with a 1/8th black pro-mist filter. I find the filter very subtle most of the time, but here you can definitely see light spilling around the tree.📷

Fence on Hadrian's Wall, designed to deter barbaric invaders from walking along the wall?
The path does take you along the top of the wall for several hundred metres here, but either end of the designated section is blocked - presumably to protect more fragile sections of the wall. 📷

East of Corbridge, on the path to Riding Mill. I had to turn back soon after this photo, as the trail was all broken up and it had become a pain to navigate between brambles. The signage I eventually found (behind a wall and facing the wrong direction!) says the path is closed due to river bank erosion - so there!! 🤣

Es wurde auch argumentiert, dass #Fleischesser häufig Informationen darüber meiden , was in der #Fleischindustrie passiert, was ihre #Dissonanz verstärken könnte. Eine Umfrage zur Einstellung gegenüber #Massentierhaltung stützte diese Idee und zeigte, dass die meisten Befragten es vorzogen, nicht an #Tierleid zu denken. Direkte experimentelle Beweise für diese Vermeidungsstrategie stammen aus neueren Forschungen von Leach et al. (2022). Wenn man diese Idee erweitert, ist es plausibel, dass #Verbraucher von #Milchprodukten, #Eiern und #Fisch es vorziehen, nicht über die #Empfindungsfähigkeit von Tieren und das #Leiden von #Tieren in der #Milch-, #Eier- und Fischindustrie nachzudenken oder sich diesen Informationen auszusetzen.

Da Milchprodukte nicht das Ergebnis von Schlachtungen und damit dem Tod von Tieren sind, kann es sein, dass die Öffentlichkeit den Zusammenhang zwischen der Milch- und #Fleischindustrie und den dadurch verursachten indirekten Todesfällen nicht erkennt (oder sehen möchte).
Das Bewusstsein, dass durch den Verzehr von #Milchprodukten indirekt die #Fleischindustrie unterstützt wird, könnte bei Konsumenten von Milchprodukten unerwünschte Gefühle hervorrufen (kognitive Dissonanz).
Allerdings fällt es vielen Menschen schwer, auf den Verzehr von Milchprodukten zu verzichten. Das mangelnde Bewusstsein für den Zusammenhang zwischen diesen Branchen könnte einer der Gründe für den vergleichsweise guten Ruf der #Milchwirtschaft sein.
