  1. "There is growing anti-capitalist and anti-war sentiment among young people. A survey last year found that 71 percent of 18 to 34-year-olds in New Zealand agreed that the country’s economy was 'rigged to advantage the rich and powerful'.”

They noticed. How do we make the fediverse and other empowering tech tools more useful to their efforts to educate, agitate and organise to address that problem?

  2. One of the great paradoxes and madnesses of this age -- which puts a premium on creativity -- is that we don't have significant doses of time to be creative. Intensity does not breed creativity.

  5. I dunno what’s going on with #TomPeters, but whoever is managing his socials is portraying it like he’s retired from public life.

    He is 81 years old.

Tom was a mutual on #Twitter for a long time.

I considered it a point of pride to be in the first 1,200 people he followed on that platform.

I think it was what kept me using it for a decade more.

  6. I feel honored.

This is what it felt like when #TomPeters became a mutual on #Twitter back in 2012.

  7. “I happen to believe that all innovation comes, not from market research or carefully crafted focus groups, but from pissed-off people.”

    –Ton Peters, Foreward to ‘Re-Imagine!’

  8. I have been meaning to re-read Tom Peters’ ‘Re-Imagine!’ for a couple years. I figure now is the time, as 2023 marks TWENTY YEARS since its publication.

It was, maybe more than any other business book I’ve read, utterly of its time, so I am curious about how it holds up.

I feel I need to revisit it at least once more—I owe my degree in business and career in project management, at least partially, to encountering this book in 2005.

  9. I remember seeing #TomPeters present. His #presentation style was cutting edge back then. Today, many people use that style. And of course his books also changed the practice of #management. May he enjoy his retirement.

    All of the above. :):):)

Apart from #TomPeters and maybe @james, most people I know don't Thrive on #Chaos.

(Fun fact: All systems involving humans are #complex, in turn determined by a chaotic attractor defining its future development paths. 😉...I hope I remember this correctly.)

Didn’t realize what a shitstorm I’d stir up by reporting on research that concludes that men on average interrupt more than women, talk more and longer than women, etc. Such assertions bring out the asshole in the assholes.
