I’ve got to learn The End by #Mammoth for a jam in a couple of weeks. This means I need to get to grips with the basics of thumping. Luckily the main lick isn’t that complicated, and it’s just repeated over and over.

You have to hit the string with your right thumb just where the fleshy part meets the nail, with the thumb coming to rest in the string below. You adjust the amount of thumbnail involved to change the amount of attack.

The main thing of course is that it’s a new bit of my hand that has to develop callouses…
