  1. Taylor Swift dévoile “The End of an Era” : un double projet événement sur Disney+

“The Final Show”, l’ultime performance à Vancouver

Les fans y retrouveront également les fameuses “surprise songs” mêlant A Place in This World à New Romantics et Long Live à New Year’s Day.

The Long Pond Studio Sessions.

  7. The Eras Tour

Last weekend we did something we’d been thinking about for months: we attended Taylor Swift’s second-to-last Eras Tour show in Vancouver, BC. It was just a short overnight trip across the border for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was absolutely amazing!!

We had missed the ground-shaking Seattle show last summer; tickets sold out instantly and at the time we didn’t know about more trustworthy resale platforms like StubHub.

We saw the concert film twice in theaters and a couple of times on Disney+ and assumed that’s the only way we’d experience the tour. However, watching various live streams of the European leg of the tour, with the recently added set for her new album, had us more excited by the possibility of going ourselves… we just assumed we never would.

That changed a few weeks ago when we managed to snag three tickets, which was absolutely worth it. An additional fun bonus is that, based on what we saw of cameras (as well as Taylor using the same costumes), these three performances were also being filmed for something. Maybe we’ll show up in some crowd shot!

This post is but a small subset of our photos and a few videos, organized largely by the eras as they appear in the show. I’ve also included some detailed shots of the handmade outfits by my wife Andrle from the week before. (We also made more friendship bracelets, of course.)

(Kid has been replaced by 😄 courtesy of Casey LissMaskerAid.)

    Vancouver

Andrle and our son had never been to Vancouver, and I hadn’t been since I was little and my family went to Expo 86. It’s a very nice city we’ll have to explore again in the future!

We walked to BC Place stadium from our hotel and got settled into our seats to the left of and just behind the stage. Kid traded a few bracelets with some other kids on the way in.

    Gracie Abrams

Gracie was the opening act. Kid has been listening to and enjoying her music so that was a fun bonus. (Also I had no idea she was JJ Abrams‘ daughter!)

I miss you, I’m sorry at the keyboard

    The Start

    It’s happening!

    5… 4… 3…

    Lover

The line “It’s been a long time coming…” is a great start to the show. The light up PixMob wristbands are a neat addition too, and one that is more obvious being to one side of the stage.

🌈 You need to calm down 🌈

    Fearless

Her earlier country-pop hits feature her band more. From our seats we could see them pretty well, and peek into what appeared to be some backstage guitar storage.

    🎸She looks like a Thundercat🎶 You belong with me-ee-ee 🎶

    Red

There aren’t a lot of artists who can sing a 10 minute song in the middle of a 3 hour show.

This was the closest she gotLike… ever. All Too Well

    Speak Now

I would have enjoyed Long Live in this set as well (Night 3 got it as a surprise song).

    Enchanted

    Reputation

This might have been my favorite of the eras live in terms of stage energy. All the bass and the huge sound system helped I’m sure. (Looking forward to RepTV whenever it comes… or a live album with these extra guitar solos!)

Look What You Made Me Do

    Folkmore

The newly combined Folklore and Evermore sets were nice. Our view of the cabin set wasn’t as good but we could see the piano well.

During the cheering after Champagne Problems my devices recorded 106 dB from the crowd and it was almost certainly louder than that. Glad we had earplugs!

    🍾 Problems 🥂

    1989

1989 was the album that turned us into Swifties; some of our favorite tracks (especially from the vault) aren’t in the concert but it has a special place for Andrle and I because it’s what started to make us the kind of fans that would see her on tour.

    The band’s Wildest Dreams🔥 Bad Blood 🔥

    The Tortured Poets Department

This was super cool to see live since it’s not a part of the current cuts of the concert film and we’ve really fallen in love with the album since it came out this spring.

🛸 Down Bad 🛸🥁 The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived 🥁

    Surprise Songs

For people who have been following the tour closely the surprise song mashups of the acoustic set have been a major highlight. I was excited for these even not knowing as much of her back catalog.

Gracie joined Taylor on stage for a duet mashup of I Love You, I’m Sorry and Last Kiss; then Taylor played a mashup of The Tortured Poets Department and Maroon.

    Midnights

Of all of the eras this feels like the one the tour was originally built for, so it makes sense it’s at the end.

    The End

It was hard to come down from the excitement of the show, especially the energy of the crowd. I can’t think of another time in which I’ve participated in what amounted to a secular liturgical service, complete with traditions passed in community from fan to fan.

Vancouver greeted us outside the stadium with pouring rain so I’m glad Andrle knew to pack ponchos! (I brought my bulkier coat along.)

    Hotel

Our hotel was definitely catering to Swifties, including an Eras Tour poster wrap for their parking garage elevator and a professional photo shoot in the lobby with a cardboard cutout of Ms. Swift herself. They even had a little Swift-themed gift bag waiting in the room! We had a nice view of downtown and plenty of space to enjoy dinner before the show.

    Outfits

Before I close this massive post, I need to brag again and show off some closeups of Andrle’s amazing embroidery work for our outfits, highlighting some of our favorite albums. I think this was about 50 hours of sewing over a few weeks between the three shirts and hoodie?

  9. Bueno… llegó el final final.
¿Cómo vuelvo a mi vida antes del «The Eras Tour»? ☠️
No voy a superar esta etapa. 😭

  10. There is this delightful older lady on this eras tour livestream, and I just want to give her a hug while I quietly cry. She knows the set list. She's passionate and happy and here, and it is all the happiness and positivity I desperately, truly needed today... #TaylorSwift #TheErasTour
