Beauty among despair: colourful murals in the decaying ruins of an abandoned "mental asylum" (an archaic form of a psychiatric hospital). Somewhere in Ireland.
This derelict site, and those like it, remain a sombre relic from a darker era in mental health care. Despite being closed for 20 years, it remains standing.
