Canyon recently unveiled the Exceed CFR Gravel.
Which is both an awesome concept (ask how I know ) and yet kind of a bluff package.
And limited in two ways: There's only 200 to buy and they reduced the front suspension travel significantly.
Also: it's neither a real CFR frame nor has the bike you can buy this Rockshox SID FA.

Canyon today introduced the Exceed CFR Gravel. In their words „our most capable gravel bike ever“. Well, I have nothing to add. :) #DropbarMTB s or, as I like to call them #SuperGravel are the more capable gravelbikes indeed. Unfortunately, this model is limited to 200 bikes. And peculiarly, Canyon has put extra effort in, to make it _less_ capable by limiting a normaly 100 mm travel offering Fox 32 Stepcast fork to just 60 mm…
Taunus Bikepacking was a blast. I felt great most of the time.
In fact, I felt amazing for the complete first 3 days.

Super happy. Yesterday I continually focused on staying just below or right at VT1 (Ventilatory Threshold 1) for 3.5 hours of this ride and then went a bit easier. And yet it lead to an average speed of 30.1 km/h over 4 hours riding over my usual „home loop“ which I rode 3x for this. Shows that a) my training is nicely on track and b) those wheels and tires (and the whole bike) are a weapon also for tarmac.
On a positive note: of course I'm an absolute sucker for any interesting bit of gear, kit or new bikes breaking cover at such events. As well as cool, good lucking and really fit for the job bikes by participants to n the know and NOT sponsored. Like this gorgeous Grind Cycles Franky:

I’ve now ridden exactly 1076 km with those XMCarbonspeed D53TU-41 rims mounted on DT Swiss 350 boost hubs. I set those up last autumn end of October.
At the same time I mounted the Schwalbe Thunder Burt Super Ground Addix Speed 29x2.25“. I like them both. :)

How barren Mastodon or the Fediverse is in terms of cycling can be seen in any Hashtag which isn't super duper mainstream. In a sense that even a non-cyclist would use it.
Take #Supergravel or #DropbarMTB... the only one posting with those is just me. I don't expect masses. Maybe not even 10 different people... but no one else? Shows (and confirms) how little info I myself can find here. It's more a sending platform than a learning or getting news platform. But... who am I telling that...
Quite pleased how that turned out. To say the least... :)
Visited the Maxxis Gravel Ground Bike-Festival at the Zeche Ewald a second time today.
This time by bike from my doorstep mostly via nice gravel and cycling routes.
Bonus: got a direct comparison of my own #Supergravel Exceed on the same test laps as I rode the other bikes yesterday. Did this also the last years.
Trek unveiled their new CheckOUT today. The bike we saw as a prototype under Justinas at the Transbalkan Race this June. A full suspension gravel bike with 60 mm travel front and 55 mm in the rear.
Need to dive deeper into the details of it. First impression though: while I'm happy such a bike finally exists I can't help but be underwhelmed by the overall design effort of Trek. That's not a Wow bike, sadly...

Wild mix yesterday. Explored Squadratinhos around Erndtebrück which resulted in quite a bit bushwhacking. Tried my new iPhone 17 Pro camera out and compared it to my 15 Pro and my Olympus OMD E-M5. And did some Tempo and Threshold work on the bike in-between.
