Taunus Bikepacking: That was fun overall. It also was a good solid week of testing my mettle. Exactly what I wanted. Something to train for. Something to motivate me and something to completely switch off from work.

An engineers 2025 cycling wrapped… charts and maps, of course! 😅🤓

8.800 km outside, Greece for the Hellenic Mountain Race, Kyrgyzstan for the Silk Road Mountain Race and in late Autum, Leuven for the Flanders Legacy Gravel Race.

12.041 km overall, 894.5 hours including hiking and strength and conditioning workouts.

Here’s to a hopefully great training and cycling (and everything else) year 2026!

Ponderings for 2026: New super long bikepacking event, Via Race Chapter III registration started, interesting route into and through Norway, longing for a long smooth pure gravel event (do you know such?) and more events I'd already like to do in 2026.
