Here's a handy tool. Let's say you're planning a bike touring/packing trip and trying to figure out how best to break it up based on places to stay. Instead of a radial search around town after town, this tool lets you upload the GPX file, set how far it should search and then provides a map with results.
In this case 1 mile (1.6km) max distance from route and it shows which sections of camping/hotels. Or bakeries. ';^) -

The ferry hopping was a shitshow to Chioggia, first (“not possibol”) and second (ferry full) time we got denied from boarding, succeeded third. There is a crappy online reservation page for bikes, only available in Italian, often failing with nonsense errors. Couldn’t figure out if it would help at all because they can still deny without reason. The ferry company (Actv) seems to hate bikes!

After taking the ferry back to Lido and finding our bikes intact, we cycled alongside the island. The far end (beyond the film festival grounds and the luxury beaches) is very quiet and there are almost no people on the beach (they are several hundred meters apart).
Pellestrina (the second island) is postcard pretty and very quiet.

Day 8: we got up before sunset in our old town guesthouse to see Venice without the crowds. It’s mind-blowing how amazing(ly empty) one of the most touristy places on our planet can be. Between 6:30 and 8 there was nobody but a few locals (yes, actual locals live in old Venice!).

Had to take the Lido ferry 3 times to park the bike there instead 🤦 At least they got no cars there either (not that the motorboats are nicer). Mostly soulless resorts en route, surprisingly good beach at Punta Sabbioni, few people only.
