The Problem with #Bigotry

There is a long history of the #religious teaching bigotry as part of their tenants. #Gays have been at best shunned, but often arrested or even killed for their victimless crime of loving the wrong person. #Women have been considered #secondclass citizens, not allowed to hold senior positions and #subservient to men in all things. Women for thousands of years suffered forced #marriages, #rape and #discipline from their fathers or #husbands.

A time when #men were men (or at least in the Closet), #women were women (and #feminine, #subservient and #unemployed outside the home), and #coloredpeople knew their place (or at least could be #terrorized to remain there). No the far right hasn’t been subtle at all.

As an #exchristian it can be hard to express personal #anger. The key is in recognizing that anger typically indicates a violation of #boundaries. #religions have a vested interest in adherents remaining #obedient & #subservient , demanding they offer #forgiveness. This provides the perfect atmosphere for #narcissistic #predators to take control. #Christianity breeds #codependency. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO FEEL & EXPRESS ANGER. It is also a legitimate part of grief. #atheist #psychology #healing #RTS
