@VickiVanLommel We _have_ lost our connection with #nature, that's true - but we also have ideologies & #religions that presuppose that #humans are "superior" to nature, & entitled to do whatever they want with it (Genesis 1:28; see: https://home.sandiego.edu/~kaufmann/hnrs379/White_1967.pdf). A complete change of world-view is needed before the kind of connection with the natural world you're talking about can be accomplished. I will certainly read your article, & respond to it further.

What I did recently, going from home in Ōsaka to Tōkyō (3). I met a friend who is a veteran filmmaker, in Nakano, near Shinjuku, and the first photo is of us in an arcade there. The carp streamers were out at that time for Children's Day (formerly Boys' Day). The carp who swim upstream or, as legend has it, up a waterfall, symbolize perseverance, a prized trait in Japan, where the ideology is that only effort distinguishes people from their peers, which is wise in a way. The filmmaker then took me to Inokashira Park (井の頭公園) in popular Kichijōji (吉祥寺). He took the park photos with his good digital camera. The temple in the park is dedicated to Benzaiten (written right to left in the traditional style), who is the Hindu goddess Saraswati. It's one of Japan's seven lucky gods (七福神) from around Asia in folk religion.

Various Christian sects have predicted the end of the world throughout the tumultuous 23 decades of the 19th-21st century; and in recent decades many Muslims have started believing that the Bible’s and the Quran’s war of Gog u-Magog in Hebrew, and 'Yajuj and Majuj' in Arabic, will blow up in the 21st century.
A Pew Research Center poll found that in South and Southeast Asia 55-60% of all Muslims believe in the Madhi’s imminent return; and in the Middle East and North Africa 51% are believers.
Yajuj and Majuj are mentioned both in Qur’an and hadith. In Islam their appearance will be one of the signs of the end times. These events will transpire after the arrival of Dajjal, Mehdi and Jesus. Gog and Magog ('Gog u-Magog' in Hebrew and 'Yajuj and Majuj' in Arabic) are names that appear in the Hebrew Bible, and in the Qur’an.
They are sometimes personified as individuals, sometimes identified as nations, or as terrible natural catastrophes. All references in the Bible, Qur’an and Hadith (oral and then written tradition) clearly indicate that human caused Gog and Magog are very numerous in number, and nature caused catastrophes will come from the northern hemisphere, at the end of times, before the Days of Judgement.

(Qur’an 39: 46) 'Say, 'O Allah, Creator of heavens and earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between your servants concerning that over which they used to differ.' And the Qur’an also states: 'Then to your Lord shall you return, and He will inform you of that over which you differed.' (Qur’an 6. 164)
May we always be a part of those organizations and movements that are fully committed to contributing to world peace, and who are equally committed to respecting both our own religion and our neighbor’s. Fethullah Gulen points out that the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and some non-Abrahamic faiths (Hinduism) accept that there is only one source for all religions, and pursue the same goal.
The Qur’an refers to Prophet Abraham as a community or a nation: 'Abraham was a nation/community [Ummah]; dutiful to God, a monotheist [hanif], not one of the polytheists.' (16:120) If Prophet Abraham is an Ummah then fighting between the descendants of Prophets Ishmael and Isaac is a civil war and should always be avoided.
If we can live up to the ideal that religious hope for a peaceful future is the will of God, we can help fulfill the 2700 year old vision of Prophet Isaiah: 'In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. On that day Israel will join a three-party alliance with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing upon the heart. The LORD of Hosts will bless them saying, 'Blessed be Egypt My people, Assyria My handiwork, and Israel My inheritance.'… (Isaiah 19:23-5)"
