Today, I was listening to some early #Squarepusher and suddenly remembered a picture I saw many years ago in which he's with Aphex Twin. After digging around a bit, I learned that it's from a 1997 photoshoot by Japanese photographer Hiromix. Gerade mal das neue Squarepusher-Album "Kammerkonzert" durchgehört. Großartige Kombination aus seinem Fusionjazz plus glitchigen Frickelbeats und moderner Kammermusik. Funkiges Cembalo in "K7 Museum", buttrige Bassline in "K2 Central", ein Breakbeat und Violinen-Feuerwerk in "K4 Fairlands"... Wahnsinn, dass er das alles allein eingespielt hat.

No idea what to expect from this one, I've not really listened to any Squarepusher since a previous age of the earth.

Kammerkonzert has been exciting and I can’t wait to enjoy and absorb all of it when it is fully released. In the meantime, I have been appreciating these two (pictured) a lot nowadays. Feels like a timeless experimental proggy jazz fusion band from the 70s.
But then I got into Chaos AD - Buzz Caner, which to me sounds like some of the best things Squarepusher made. I didn’t know it was such an insanely amazing album! He had bits of everything in that record. Someone has to bring that back (not around much sadly because Rephlex Records…) Favourites start from Psultan Part 1

Still my favorite SP album. His later stuff got just a bit too abstract for me.
Fun fact: the album title is a reference to something the partner of the label record's boss said, asking to be fed more weird music.

Kele from Bloc Party playing the Squarepusher track "Mr Red Car" enjoys the same misheard lyric ("going to fuck you with my raincoat on") that I do, and now I'm sure Squarepusher did that intentionally
