It started on #HabboHotel and moved to #CokeMusic where people had avatars that walked around and interacted. All Geno were gray and we preached of the path and the cowbells and we formed lines and coordinated stuff using SA. A line of 50 Geno might form up and everyone would stop interacting simultaneously, the avatars would simultaneously vanish when they timed out.

Cultural production on the internet has always been a mystery to me. Like why did #SomethingAwful or #4Chan produce so much before they went straight into the toilet? Same with #Reddit.

This makes me think that if some version of the #Metaverse ever takes off, the most interesting implementation won't be made by #Meta. They may build the most used one, or the most profitable one, but I doubt it will be the one that produces anything interesting.

@zyk one more zyk comment, my daughter is 18 years old and she was the only person in #SomethingAwful whose registration date was the same as her birth date. Not just the same month and day, the same year too! My wife squeezed her out and I returned home and registered her account, "zyk" of course, on the month, day and year of her birth!

I was a #SomethingAwful person for 15 or so years until #Lowtax went insane and eventually killed himself and I might just be an ex #Reddit person now as well. New admin at #SA isn't great and maybe just opening a new reddit account for #JWST and some other subs will work, who knows. #LicensaTheAPIAndScrewTheUsers is pretty bad though.

I maintain that this notion of the #firstamendment being applicable to twitter is a bad argument. It wasn't true before and it isn't true now. All that said, it is a problem, even if its not a violation of the law for #Elon to moderate #twitter like #Lowtax from #SomethingAwful

Twitter's size and importance means that it should be moderated responsibly. On SA, you might get banned for personally irritating the mods and the suspension message would be a picture of tarantula on someone's penis
