Künefe was being devoured in India as I casually scrolled through my Turkey memories… and then almost on cue - a sudden hiccup. There it was: my very first künefe moment, captured in a little restaurant by the Sea of Marmara, Istanbul.
I sat there, completely awestruck.

That day, they wore matching outfits and enjoyed a cheerful conversation under the clear blue sky. It felt as perfect as a memory painted in gold - one of those rare moments where there was simply nothing more to add - especially when they had their dedicated paparazzi (me) 🙃
