Is Dismal Wizard the only critter on the planet the only person crazy enough to use ubiquity UniFi Talk for home phone service? When Identity became Endpoint, the softphone stopped ringing. Has anyone encountered this gremlin? Have you slain it? #ubiquity #unifi #UniFiTalk #softphone

With wifi and esims when I need data, I think that I can get rid of my cellular service and, with #grapheneos, get rid of Google too. There must be many doing this. Any comments or headsups on the experience? I have VoIP.ms set up but need a #softphone that I can get working as a first step.

Softphone/IP phone question....

We're moving back to the UK later this year (Wife's UK Visa just got approved) and we've got 3 US phone numbers that we would like to port to VoIP so that we can keep them in the UK. I will install a VoIP system in the new house in the UK (still to find and buy one) - but for now I just need to look at porting numbers to a service and set up softphone apps on our Android devices.

Any recommendations on service to use and apps?

Right now ekiga look abandoned, empathy is "not good enough" (crash on call, sip module not stable). It would be great if it's not too "gtk3 dependent" (Small debian stable kde installation). Anyone using voip here ? :)
