Debushification.
It went slowly. The wrist ached, the gnarly, thorny shrubs were difficult to stuff into the shredder and some spectators came by for a demonstration of the chipper (friends of wife, so I obliged).
Still, one area got cleaned up and should be maintainable now. Just a few bits of firewood to collect.

CW: Gardening question
I have a couple of shrubs, I think they're a juniper and a cypress? I'm not sure.
Anyway, my question is: they're growing where they shouldn't be, at risk of obstructing a public path, and they will need a trim at some point. Can I go ahead and cut them now? Or are they like rose bushes, benefiting from a single annual prune in winter?

In the autumn, I planted a sweet box bush in my front garden. And it's starting to flower! The flowers are tiny but definitely there. Mind you, the bush is also tiny, these things don't grow fast.
Apologies for the flowers being a bit blurry, the camera refused to focus on anything but the leaves, and I was coming home with shopping so couldn't be bothered doing it manually.
Also, bonus, my snowdrops and crocuses are coming through.
