Des nouvelles de l'écologie sans les écologistes : Ma banque (Belfius) a décidé de renoncer à faire contrôler ses objectifs climatiques (basés sur l'accord de Paris)
Détenue à 100 % par l’État belge (suite à la faillite de Dexia en 2009), 3,8 millions de clients, Belfius a donc quitté en février dernier et en toute discrétion le processus #SBTi (pour « science based targets initiative », soit littéralement « objectifs fondés sur la science ») dans lequel la banque s’était engagée deux ans auparavant.
La Belgique était pourtant sous majorité incluant les écolos du Nord au Sud du pays jusqu'il y a deux semaines. -

So much for the #SbTI. For financials, 99,9% of emissions is financed emissions (scope 3). Allowing offsetting for those will hamper real change and cannot but lead to significant greenwashing. "The lenders have abandoned efforts for the Science Based Targets Initiative (#SBTi) to validate their goals because of concerns it could hinder their ability to continue financing #FossilFuels, the sources said."
Um.
This shows two things:
1. SBTi is effective
2. You can tell exactly which banks are unwilling to close the #MoneyPipeline to the planet wreckers. -
