I used to be way too serious...

It used to be an effort to smile for the camera. Most of the time, it just looked fake, so I just had to perfect a cool stare.

Nowadays, it is hard to wipe the smile from my face. My whole mindset is different. Just looking at myself in the mirror sometimes leaves me on a high.

Today is the second day of our Week of Action! Miley Fletcher, one of ARC's founding members, reports widespread hatred and abuse of trans women at SCI Greene, a men's prison in Pennsylvania. With decades in the system, she says that this is worst she's seen.
"Hello, can I please speak to the superintendent? I'm calling to ask you to look into the treatment of trans women at Greene, and do everything in your power to stop the discrimination and harassment. I understand that:
-Officers routinely mock and harass trans women and then write them up if they say anything back, landing them in solitary.
-Gang members who don't want trans women in their units file false PREA reports, landing trans women in solitary.
-While in solitary, officers skip trans women for meals, refuse to give them even basic issue of linens and other bare necessities, and continue to mock and harass them.
This mistreatment needs to end."
