"Donations dropped DRASTICALLY in January, which has made it difficult to keep up with caring for 100 families in our three camps. This week we decided to stop the weekly vouchers provided to families and the music classes, which obviously caused a lot of frustration amongst the families. We urge you to help us with donations and fundraisers to care for the patients and the vulnerable families in our camps!
[...] Our encampments serve some of the most vulnerable families: those with war injuries or chronic diseases, adults with special needs and mobility issues, children with physical or mental disabilities, high risk perinatal and neonatal females, or families with extreme trauma or are in phychological distress. With this narrowed criteria, we are able to serve the most critical population with tailored services and facilities [...] In addition, our camp takes a burden off the over-stressed hospital system as we also take referrals from medical NGOs, [...]"

Met muziek, sprekers, dans en een markt zamelt VERA geld in voor het Palestine Humanitarian Response Centre (PHRC) en The Sameer Project.
VERA: Door de genocide gepleegd door Israël leven en sterven Palestijnen nog steeds onder onmenselijke omstandigheden. Kom in actie! Samen voor Palestina! Bevrijd Palestina!

The #SameerProject runs the Refaat Alareer Camp for displaced families in central Gaza. There are now 35 families in the camp.
Latest update: Sun 20 July, 5 new families move in & famine getting worse ...
"It has been 12 days since our last update and so much has happened since then. As many of you might know, the famine in Gaza accelerated with all community kitchens stopping in this weekend. Throughout the last 12 days we have managed to provide one meal a day to the families in the camp but we are unsure what we will be able to provide over the next week so we need your support now more than ever."

The Refaat Alareer Camp for forcibly displaced families is one of the projects of the Palestinian-run Sameer Project (one of the other ones is supplying a lot of needed drinking water to the North of Gaza).
