Thu, Mar 12: $299,896 for 2.4 million liters & over 10,000 meals!
"The situation in Gaza remains dire as borders closed for a few days last week, and now they are barely letting anything in. Today our team informed us that there is no meat left in the market and that gas prices for water trucks shot up due to the shortage. The military occupation is punishing Gaza due to the regional war that is occuring between them and Iran, and the most vulnerable end up paying the price. We pray for the victory against our oppressor and ask for your continuos donations and support!"

$108,978 for 93 tents in 3 weeks of mass displacement!
"Our last updates focused on food and water but today's update will be for the tents provided from around mid-September till the "ceasefire" date in October, which is October 9th. Prior to the "ceasefire" there were tens of thousands being displaced from the North to the South, so we accelerated our tent distributions during that time. Some tents were given to vulnerable families but most of the tents were set up directly by our team. The Sameer Project team would go to different areas and find families on the streets with nothing except their belongings, so would set up tents for them."

Last update from the Refaat Alareer Camp:
Tuesday 25 nov.: $78,983 spent caring for our camps for 3 weeks!
"A big change in our camps has been the switch from daily food distributions to voucher distributions that range between 100-200 shekels ($30 - $60) according to vulnerability & family size. After the "ceasefire" prices of goods dropped as around 150 trucks enter Gaza daily with aid and commercial goods. The agreement dictated 600 trucks but the military occupation is not abiding to that to keep food prices high and also they mostly allow fizzy drinks and junk food to keep people malnourished."

"The ceasefire has finally been announced providing Palestinians in Gaza with a huge sense of relief and pure joy. Unfortunately the loss and grief shortly sat in and people are processing the magnitude of pain they have had to endure for two years.
This is why the Sameer Project will keep going and keep providing relief and support to the Palestinians in Gaza for as long as needed. People have already started returning to the North and we would like to support them on their journey back on Rashid street by providing food and water."

"Despite the waves of forced displacements from North Gaza, our team continues to provide essential aid to those who are steadfastly staying in Gaza city. We are still providing, on average, 200,000 liters of fresh water, 1000 family-sized meals, 160 packages of bread, amongst other initiatives like food packages and supporting both the Palestinian Civil Defense and Ambulance Services in the North.
People need help surviving - we need to supply daily food and water for those who remain and it's getting extemely expensive to continue these services. Please donate to the campaign, we are running low on funds when we are needed the most."

Tues. 26 Aug: Four new families, pastry-making class, women packages & much more!
"It's been a busy few weeks at the Refaat Alareer camp with 4 new families moving in and an extension of the camp being set up. With the constant threats of the military occupation to displace people from the North to the South, the team decided to expand the camp to take in more patients and their families. We finished the fencing of the extension and are now securing toilets for the potential influx of people."

"A civilian ship carrying aid to #Palestinians in Gaza was intercepted by the Israeli military in international waters on Saturday, the #FreedomFlotillaCoalition confirmed.
"The #HandalaFlotilla was carrying baby formula, diapers, food, and medicine. The passengers were detained and the cargo was seized. The coalition said the boat was intercepted 'in international waters outside Palestinian territorial waters off Gaza, in violation of international maritime law.'
" 'Israel has no legal authority to detain international civilians aboard the Handala,' Ann Wright, a member of the #FreedomFlotilla’s steering committee, said in a statement. 'This is not a matter of internal Israeli jurisdiction. These are foreign nationals operating under international law in international waters. Their detention is arbitrary, unlawful, and must end.'
"This week, the United Nations’ World Food Program said the famine in Gaza has reached 'new and astonishing levels of desperation, with a third of the population not eating for multiple days in a row.' According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, there have been 40 hunger-related deaths this month.

"A civilian ship carrying aid to #Palestinians in Gaza was intercepted by the Israeli military in international waters on Saturday, the #FreedomFlotillaCoalition confirmed.
"The #HandalaFlotilla was carrying baby formula, diapers, food, and medicine. The passengers were detained and the cargo was seized. The coalition said the boat was intercepted 'in international waters outside Palestinian territorial waters off Gaza, in violation of international maritime law.'
" 'Israel has no legal authority to detain international civilians aboard the Handala,' Ann Wright, a member of the #FreedomFlotilla’s steering committee, said in a statement. 'This is not a matter of internal Israeli jurisdiction. These are foreign nationals operating under international law in international waters. Their detention is arbitrary, unlawful, and must end.'
"This week, the United Nations’ World Food Program said the famine in Gaza has reached 'new and astonishing levels of desperation, with a third of the population not eating for multiple days in a row.' According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, there have been 40 hunger-related deaths this month.
"More than 100 aid agencies and rights groups have warned of a '#MassStarvation' across Gaza."
