After hours spent carefully preparing her cakes, Abrar Abdu stood stunned in silence before her oven.

In her small, darkened workshop in #Gaza City, the only light came from her phone’s torch, illuminating more than 27 ruined cakes - the result of a sudden #power cut and a faulty oven.

Abdu, 34, who runs a small cake business in the #Palestinian enclave, was forced to apologise to customers after failing to deliver their orders, refund every payment and absorb the full cost of the wasted ingredients.

According to a media group, the #activists used ladders to climb over razor-wire fencing to enter the premises.

After occupying the roof, they drilled holes into it and then abseiled into the building.

The Aftershock reported that the ceiling of the clean room, where Israeli #drone parts are reportedly made, was broken. It said that such contamination of the clean room could knock it out of use for some months.

One of the activists involved said: “We are sick and tired of our government’s collaboration in this #genocide that #Israel is committing on the #Palestinian people."

It remains unclear whether the ceasefire between #Israel and #Lebanon that took effect Thursday will hold. In any case, Dimi Reider argued, it’s unlikely to stop Israel’s expansionist ambitions. Palestinian sources with direct knowledge of the talks told #MEE that #Hamas views the plan, presented earlier this month, as a “trap” designed to ignite civil war in the #Gaza Strip and destabilise #Palestinian society.

The group fears the proposal would leave Palestinians in Gaza defenceless while allowing Israeli-backed armed gangs to operate freely and spread disorder.

...opposition is even stronger within its military wing, which considers disarmament “collective suicide”.

They added...that the proposal targets Palestinian armed groups while failing to address armed gangs operating under Israeli direction inside Gaza.
