I was Today Years Old when I found out about Open Course World, a reimplementation of Super Mario Maker 2's Course World that can be accessed by both modded Switch systems and (at least the Ryujinx-)Emulator.
Works pretty great on Steam Deck, and if you already have courses on the official Course World for Super Mario Maker 2, you can also have them imported into Open Course World.

Mario & Luigi #Brothership endlich completed. Das hat 62 In-Game-Stunden gedauert… Das Spiel ist mechanisch großartig, aber etwas weniger Cutscenes hätten es auch getan. Aber das beste ist: Ich habe das komplette Spiel auf dem SteamDeck gespielt, mit #Ryujinx, dem Open-Source-#Switch-Emulator, den Nintendo zerstört hat, bevor das Spiel erschienen ist. Und es hat tadellos funktioniert, von wenigen Abstürzen und Grafikglitches abgesehen. Und das gab mir die größte Befriedigung dabei.

I assume, obviously Nintendo pressured the maintainer into deleting all source code and the project.

Today has been a good day, overall, kept relatively busy with work. And, I got TOTK to work at 4K 60FPS on my Gaming PC. What a spectacular time it is for gaming!
I've been dying to play this at a much higher resolution and framerate, and now it's possible!

Hey, the #ArchLinux User Repository (AUR) has an ryujinx-git update now. I was skeptical. This package builds itself directly from git, but there is no official #Ryujinx Git anymore (after that recent Nintendo threat). Also the pkgbuild shows a new maintainer ("username227" - hmm) and there is no communication about it (at least not within the AUR structures). When looking further into the pkgbuild, the git repo was changed (of course) to a fork called "GreemDev" which is quite active and even touches the emulator logic itself – other than most other whatever Emu forks that do things with the GUI and sometimes even malicious stuff, but often not more. Commit b21740c shows, they intend to be a direct continuation of the original. Looks better already.
Also back to the AUR package's new maintainer "username227". He maintains quite a bunch of packages, so he seems legit. Also the pkgbuild is fine, straight to the point, no strange things happening there.
While this is all no guarantee to be all good, I've tried it, being a Nintendo #Emulator addict that I am.
It works fine, it has a nice new happy little rainbow icon 🌈, and it picked up my config (including firmware) and game saves just fine.
Anyway: Just because I say it's fine, it doesn't have to be, so use it at your own risc. Stupidly the git fork location is on GitHub again, I mean, do people never learn? I give it 2 months max, before Nintendo cracks down on this as well.
Last thing. If you like an emulated switch game and you can afford it, buy it! It's only fair towards the developers.

Avrete sentito che lo hanno appena rifatto: quasi precisamente 7 mesi dopo aver distrutto Yuzu… ora pure Ryujinx è non più, e la notizia arriva così di sorpresa. Il sito esiste ancora, ma niente più download o sorgenti. Brutto. 😭️
A dire il vero qui non sembra trattarsi di una diffida, e assolutamente non è DMCA; si dice che sia stato il capo sviluppatore, gdkchan, ad accettare un accordo con Nintendo… Non è chiaro se in cambio di soldi, ma francamente credo sia l’unica opzione possibile, altrimenti che incentivo avrebbe dovuto avere, a cancellare organizzazione GitHub e tutto? …Altrimenti, se ha fatto questo in cambio di nulla, avrà possibilmente ricevuto minacce per via del fatto che Ryujinx ha un Patreon (anche se non offriva versioni migliori del software per gli abbonati)? ☠️Comunque, anche se tecnicamente questo non è il caso, perché il disastro è avvenuto in modo abbastanza pacifico… Nintendo, è, sempre, più, litigiosa. Perché… proprio uno o due giorni prima, lo youtuber Retro Game Corps ha dichiarato di aver ricevuto una quantità pericolosa di strike dai ninja, solo per aver mostrato i loro giochini (non più in vendita) girare sulle consoline da emulazione. E non penso più che sia un problema di soldi, che il pubblico non dovrebbe fare alle spalle della enorme N; altrimenti non butterebbero giù ogni cosa, ma obbligherebbero soltanto a non guadagnarci più sopra. 💸️
L’unica cosa buona è che il software libero non può essere distrutto… e infatti, come l’altra volta, ecco la lista con tutti i #backup dell’emulatore che man mano trovo o carico, binari e sorgenti: octospacc.altervista.org/paste/ryujinx-postmortem-links/?ppt=cfafee2952a17ca3a0bc0b09e813d1c3725223ff61f705e355428c87128ddc40. Troppo peccato, perché stavano anche lavorando a un porting Android, e stavano facendo esperimenti per iOS, oltre a miglioramenti generali di un #emulatore già eccellente. 💣️
Sempre più impossibile anche per i fan supportare Nintendo… Io ormai, dopo tutti i problemi di Switch, avevo già deciso anni fa che non comprerò mai più prodotti Nintendo nuovi… Ovviamente, quando succedono cose del genere — l’azienda che, invece di riconoscere le sue debolezze, per migliorarsi e superare la concorrenza offrendo un prodotto sempre migliore che dia sempre più valore a chi lo acquista a prezzi sempre più bassi, sceglie di togliere fondi al reparto hardware e firmware per buttare tutto su quello legale — la reazione certamente non può essere positiva. 🙊️
Purtroppo la situazione continuerà a peggiorare per i gamer, se quei fan cerebrolesi potenti che vivono nutrendosi dello sperma che succhiano dal cazzo delle corporazioni ogni giorno — senza in cambio ricevere nulla per la prestazione sessuale incessante — continuano a giustificare queste cose. Mi sa che, giusto per farmi burla di Ninty, questo è proprio il momento perfetto per mettere in pratica un’idea che nessuno ha avuto il coraggio di fare finora: un porting WASM di Ryujinx, così da rendere embeddabile, gratuitamente, su qualsiasi sito web, senza download o setup per i visitatori, qualsiasi gioco #Switch… 😈️

You know what makes me want to give my money to #Nintendo? Not this. I'm livid that Nintendo is going nuclear on any and all projects they deem as problematic for them, whether or not they have any legal grounds. #Palword they are going to slap suit into the dirt without even telling the devs what patents they infringed on. The Yuzu #Switch #Emulator made sense because the team made some dumb decisions, but #Ryujinx didn't do anything illegal (that we know of), so Nintendo's answer was to make the maintainer "a deal they couldn't refuse". All of Nintendo's legal activity should worry the game industry as a whole, both for development and preservation.

Hitting #YouTube creators like PointCrow and Russ from RetroGameCorps with (targeted) copyright strikes (threateningly), taking down #Yuzu (#Switch) and #Citra (#3DS), now taking down #Ryujinx (Switch) too. Definitely expecting them to take down other emulators too like #melonDS (#NDS), #Cemu (#WiiU), maybe even #RetroArch in the near future.
Who's hurting them to resort to these? Pretty sure they're doing better than ever, and that they're not making any money from old consoles like the 3DS to be this hellbent on taking down #emulation. If anything, focus on taking down illegal ROM sites maybe rather than (the definitely should be) legal emulators?
