Dear #Valve, #RPCS3, and #ShadPS4 people, could you please talk to each other? Why can’t I use one of you with another one of you?
I want either for #Steam to output a DirectInput gamepad (DualShock/Sense, Switch Pro) or for those emulators to support #SteamInput. That way, we can use any gamepad with gyro and touch pads.
I don’t want to spend half the price¹ of a console on a PlayStation compatible “Pro” gamepad for, like, the three games I want to play. :/
¹ − Now it’s a third, but still.

So, ripped my copy of _Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir_ and decided to replay it using `shadPS4`. So far it is an outstanding experience, no issues, and the murder bird is still an absolute joy to play. Granted, not all PS4 games are compatible, but this one looks to be 100% good to go. Definitely a great way to play the game.

So, ripped my copy of _Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir_ and decided to replay it using `shadPS4`. So far it is an outstanding experience, no issues, and the murder bird is still an absolute joy to play. Granted, not all PS4 games are compatible, but this one looks to be 100% good to go. Definitely a great way to play the game.

Believe it or not, #Bloodborne looks much better in an emulator, #Shadps4, than in a real hardware PS4 device. I've tried it in a #SteamDeck, with some mods and patches, and it runs at ~60 FPS with some improvements here and there.

Much sadness about ShadPS4 developer putting out a new version and annihilating previous compatibility list.
They dropped from 320+ titles working to 20+ titles with the 7.1.0 version.
They also removed the PKG installer from the main package, which is the most popular format for dumping original games without the need to rip them.
I'll continue following their work but it's a NO GO for me, at least for now.
I'll also hope EmuDeck will add other PS4 emulators in the future, because the potential is quite huge.

TBH the emulator-to-porter quality ratio is a tried and true method of seeing how badly a company can mess up in #porting a #game.
#Emulators try to recreate the conditions of original systems, like old #gaming consoles. That means it requires extra processing, sometimes much more processing just to recreate the same conditions.
But in modern times emulators have been putting #vendors to shame. The #RPCS3 emualtor is one example of it, and #ShadPS4 is another.
