#TomEmmer is the newest #HouseGOP member to be nominated for humiliation.
Unlike #JimJordan, the #HouseWhip is being opposed for not being #conservative enough: he dared vote yea for the #RespectForMarriage Act, which said the federal govt would recognize states' same-sex and interracial marriages.
That *that's* why he's facing such opposition is still further reason to be disgusted with the #Republican party.

Throwing something as portable as a right to #marriage BACK to the states to decide is so messed up I cant even. So, “Good luck people in red states”? #Gay, #trans & #Queer people in red states STILL live without a right to be served by a business. Passage of the #respectformarriage act was a sad day for those of us who would have no rights at all of it we’re not for federal intervention.

Been keeping an eye on this passing through congress. Marriage Equality shouldn't need special protections in this country, but alas, here we are.
I know I can't be the only one who has misgivings over how easy this is passing by the Trumpies and what exactly the Dems are giving up in the Bill. Because, you know the Dems will carve out anything the Reps want to keep them happy.
