Lake Street Dive, Obviously, 2021 on Nonesuch
This was the seventh album from Boston's own Lake Street Dive (formed at the New England Conservatory) and the third on Nonesuch. It was originally due to come out earlier but got delayed by Covid and such. Rachael Price is such a powerhouse vocalist it can almost be overwhelming at times, but I like their songwriting and musical choices. But I can not ignore the 2025 cognitive dissonance. I like playful uselessness, but I dislike plastic consumer products. Can’t have it all, I guess. If it can feed some artist, it might be worth it.
