Decided to take my old #raspberrypi to use, it has separate screen so will be good for info screen at home. Only bad thing is, that it hasn't been used for many years and it still running #rasbian #wheezy. 😅 Every major upgrade takes quite a lot time, soon upgrade to #stretch is finished.

@ottobackwards @jhx I guess I did. I use #AlmaLinux 8 on bare meta, and #CentOS 7 and #RockyLinux 9 VM's on Windows, #RHEL 7 in data center VM's, Rocky Linux 8 cloud containers, and occasionally, Rocky Linux 9 containers in the *EL VM's on Windows. I don't actually like *EL or Windows OS's, but my employer does. At home I use #NixOS, #Rasbian and occasionally #Pop_OS.

CW: Next time when someone asks me which #Linux do I use my answer will be
@darth …
I have a few #ubuntu systems but there too the extra helpfulness on top of what #debian provides seems to confuse me more than it helps me and I sometimes run into bugs that I just don’t come across on #debian
Lately I am very impressed with the stability and reproducable nature of #NixOS though sometimes it takes a day or two before a critical software update for some package gets updated.
Oh and of course I also use things like #rasbian and #alpine but not too often.
And then there are #xcp-ng and #proxmox and #ovirt which provide special distributions.
Do you want me to continue on what I use on tablets and mobile phones? -
Ja was für ein.... #raspi4, #rasbian #DebianBookworm

I forgot that I also use:
• #RHEL/#RedHat on office servers
• #UbuntuServer on a spare home server
• #Rasbian on my #RaspberryPi which I am using to backup my main #NAS -
#tic80 on #LibreComputer update:
- The headless #rasbian image from Libre did a nice job getting #LePotato online with a cheap USB Wifi dongle
- Next up I'll start on the #ansible role to inflate from a raw headless Raspbian image into some kind of Tic80 kiosk. Probably on #i3wm so the escape keys can be used to run other processes when I need them.Should result in a $70 computer that kids can sit at to learn to code

Ok #RasPi #DHCP question in a Windows environment here:
Imagine an up-to-date #Rasbian configured to get an #IP via DHCP. DHCP server is an #Windows #Server 2012R2.DHCP server gets the request on a weird mac address which is way too long and returns not the reserved IP but one from the pool.
Once you do "dhclient eth0" on the RasPi you get an additional IP, the reserved one. Any ideas why the funky #mac appears? Did check the duid / clientid config and it was set to clientid. Thoughts?
