Every time I see Grady Hilhouse drop a new Practical Engineering video, that's an instant click. Ever since I first saw a functioning model of a civil water system on "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" as a kid, I've been fascinated with the built environment. Civil infrastructure is what makes all this (waves arms) work.

I swear to god, Grady's plexiglass models on his #PracticalEngineering channel are my reason for continuing to live. I love a good practical model to show me how the world works (I think I have Mister Rogers to thank for that).

Having an idea for a simple, parametric spool adapter, writing the code in #OpenSCAD, generating the 3MF file for the slicer, sending it to the #BambuLab #A1mini printer and having it printed. All in less than an hour. I like!
(the OpenSCAD code is in the ALT text of the first picture, in case you want to use it :)

One of the (many) things I love about #PracticalEngineering is how it causes me to reevaluate where innovation is happening, and helps me appreciate the incredible engineering still happening in #trains and #rail!

CW: How This Bridge Was Rebuilt in 15 Days After Hurricane Ian - Practical Engineering
The Sanibel Causeway was destroyed by hurricane Ian cutting off the residents of the island from the mainland. Within a month, the causeway was fixed (temporarily) and reopened to traffic. With most construction project we know of taking years to complete, how was it possible to open the causeway so quickly.

If you've ever wondered how infrastructure we take for granted every day work Practical Engineering is a great YouTube channel to follow.
In this video Grady covers the impact of an EMP to the electrical grid, and to a lesser extend consumer electronics.
