  2. That's it, I've gone for a Full Fibre service from Plusnet.

    I had yet another 4G outage, from Three, that lasted for nearly a week. I'm hoping the Full Fibre service is going to be much more reliable.

    Installation should be happening sometime next week. We'll see if that goes smoothly.

    My daughter recently switched her broadband provider to PlusNet.

    I have to say their customer service has been absolutely excellent. Called with a couple of queries - due to poor responses from Sky, the previous provider. Agents were knowledgeable and helpful.

    #PlusNet went above and beyond. I'll be switching when my contract ends.

    Give me 'under-promise and over-deliver' every time.

  9. I'm on hold to #plusnet... because it's time to renegotiate our contract... and I have questions to ask a human... so that we can decide whether to renew... or go full fibre... 15 minutes of hold music... and I'm losing the will... they said it was a 30 minute wait... aarrgghhh...

  10. @GreyAreaUK It looks like it ... I ventured over to the Bird site and loads complaining over there ... Plusnet have finally commented "I'm sorry to hear your internet is down, this sounds very frustrating! We're aware of a situation at the moment which is effecting a lot of customers. Currently we have no timescale to get this resolved." #plusnet

  12. Round the houses with #PlusNet today trying to migrate from #Broadband and #PhoneLine to Broadband and #VOIP ahead of the #Dec2025 deadline!!

    Finally placed the order to migrate to #SOGEA with PlusNet - now to wait and see if I lose my BB and/or phone line or whether it all goes smoothly. #FingersCrossed for Monday!!

    Thanks to all @aaisp for their patience in walking me through the process.

    I dread to think how others are going to cope with this as the target moves nearer!!

  14. It's begginning to feel like I'm fighting an uphill struggle with #openreach!! For almost 3 years since we moved into this house, first with #britishtelecom and now with #plusnet we've had the same issue every 10 days, where our Broadband/Hybrid Fibre will just drop and take an age to connect back up. I've lost track how many #openreach Engineers we've had out, and they know exactly what the issue is, but they just don't want to fix it!! It's a long stretch of Aluminium that is causing the 1/2

  15. Plusnet appear to have a network wise outage.

    Only HTTP/HTTPS connections appear to be affected - if you open a VPN then everything keeps working. Downdetector reached 17K complaints in less than an hour.

    My network () shut down and I've moved to who resell which has rubbish reception. They say enable wifi-calling which is available in Samsung Phone app but I'm pretty sure tells Samsung about every call I make.

    Until needing this feature I've used Simple Dialler from which is good but doesn't support wifi calling

  21. I will have been with #PlusNet for very nearly 17 years at the end of this month when I leave. They are wanting to increase my price for Internet access by over 12 percent, (to £38) whilst not doing anything to offer me a digital voice alternative to my analogue phone line. Their home telephone features have been overpriced for years and I've always begrudged line rental for a line we use so infrequently but it was always worth it because we needed the line for the DSL.
    Bring on the fibre, from someone else. I'm hopeful I can port the phone number out to atrusted VOIP provider and have been offerred faster fibre than I currently use for £20 per month.

  23. My broadband provider announced they are going to put up their prices by CPI + 3.9%. This works out at about 14%. Their justification is increased costs of energy, cost of living, etc.

    I wonder if staff of #plusnet are getting a CPI linked pay increase to match the increases in household costs?

  24. Hmm. A bit weird. Tried to sign up with #NowBroadband but it crashes out when I put my mobile in with a "something went wrong; please call us" message. Tried #SkyBroadband instead (I know, same company); I get a technical error message after first form.

    Is there a problem at Sky just as I'm trying to switch providers, or something weird about my mobile number that might cause an issue? I really do not want to call them.

    Will try again tomorrow, but otherwise might have to go back to #Plusnet.

    #Fediverse. Finally after 10 days of make do and mend I now have a secure wifi/broadband connection. Tek from #PlusNet was talked through a router reset from his #sysadmin. An upgrade is on its way. #Rule1 Enthusiastic amateurs (my landlord) can bugger any system through lack of sense, whilst trying to save a penny. He is as rich as Croesus!scot
