    @Anne_Delong

    I'm a big fan of Pegasus Mail too! Coincidentally developed by David Harris in New Zealand, where @sundogplanets is experiencing the Thunderbird meltdown.

    The only reason I'm not using Pegasus Mail is because there's no Linux build. And the source code isn't available.

  2. Anybody remember Pegasus Mail? I've used it for what must have been a decade in the 90s and early 2000s. It still exists and there were still updates in 2025! Kudos.

  7. @yetiinabox Thanks. I should have followed up to say that I found the solution: let the Google app to access my local files. Not happy with that, but can live with it.

    Meanwhile, I had tried old fave Thunderbird, which has some advantages, but getting it to load 15 years of email archives in 1,000 msg batches was maddening. After several hours of pokes, it was only half done, so I deleted it.

    I have never had any email client as good as the #MSDOS #PegasusMail that ran my life in the 1990s.

  8. my first experience with computers was in grade 5 when I was brought into a computer lab at school with huge CRT monitors and lol we learned how to setup our first email with :D

  9. @me lol I won't disagree, are you friends with :blobcataww:

  10. I distinctly remember that when I found Pegasus Mail on a shareware CD, my first thought was that by accident someone did put the full version on the CD instead of the incomplete Shareware version.
    This was when I first started on this magical internet with AOL.
