  1. It’d be helpful if Apple’s Pass Viewer app on macOS (used to preview a pass and add it to Apple Wallet) would show an error message rather than silently failing when a pkpass file has an invalid signature.

Related: apparently no one on the dev team of national retailer Officeworks has noticed that the signatures of their Apple Wallet passes are broken due to an invalid team identifier or signing certificate.

  4. Did some DIY printing of documents at Officeworks.

Changes to the user interface have hidden the ability of the user to change Contrast and Brightness when printing.

    What are they, $10,000 printers?

"Fuck the customer, this works for us"?

(The collation/stapling bench is long gone.)

  9. Not always functioning at 100%?

Well you're doing better than #Officeworks.

Far as I can tell they've got the same barcode on the theft-prevention "Take this card to the counter" cardboard on the SD card display racks as on the real item you're trying to purchase.

So if you don't watch carefully you can go through the checkout and then discover at home that you've paid more than $70 for a bit of cardboard.

Such good service, so convenient, so reliable ... smh

  14. I purchased a small product from #Officeworks

It failed spectacularly on first use.

I emailed them with photos, description, product information. I said I don't care about the money but maybe you want to remove this item from sale.

I got an email back saying please call "customer service" as we need more info. I emailed them back saying...what???

Their reply...note the product is UNusable.

They can't even get that right.

  19. As has been reported elsewhere, a Jewish man was refused service by an Offceworks in Australia because the employee said she was "Pro-Palestine".

She also said she was the manager, which left the customer no option to have the situation addressed.

Officeworks has sent the employee to "training" but there's been no other formal actions in place as far as I can tell from the news articles, no apology from the employee, no new training initiatives, no formal apology to the Jewish community, or termination of the employee.

That is certainly Officeworks' choice, but I would encourage a civil rights lawsuit if that's a legal avenue available in Australia.

It's not enough for corporations to put out generic statements.

This "Pro-Palestine" vs Jewish or even "Pro-Palestine" vs Israeli rhetoric needs to end now. It's disgusting and hateful.

  23. More garbage service, this time from #Officeworks both national and O'Connor branch.

Head office has a store locator webpage up. See below.

Try entering the #Perth, Western Australia suburb of O'Connor into it.
    A waste of time.

Then I phoned that store to ask for assistance.
Twenty-five minutes of waiting and I had not got to talk with a human. So I hung up.

    #ConsumingIn2024

This #MassMarketModel isn't fit for serving humans IMO.

  28. I had to go to #Officeworks to replace/return a defective HD purchased only two months ago. They insisted on getting my licence to get my personal details and open an account according to their 'process' and 'policy'.

I told them to fuck off about me giving them my personal details. And reminded them that under customer law, they have to replace a defective product they sold me.

So at the end they replaced the HD and I left the store, probably to not go back ever.

Hopefully this attitude of customers refusing to hand over personal details to businesses when it is not necessary will become more generalised and businesses will realise that #privacy is important to people.

  33. I like #officeworks so much as someone who enjoyed #stationeries and #journaling and all that. If I were rich, I would buy #POSCA markers and spend my days in #colouring books. You just don’t have that kind of stock in store.

  40. Had a clean out yesterday and taking a stash of broken electronics to be recycled today: 5 iPhones, 3 ipods, 2 iPads and a MacBook. It’s great the #officeworks offers this service to make me feel better about myself 🤭😋
