Yhdessä lehdessä oli joskus juttu ihmisestä joka purjehti yksin folkkarilla Atlantin yli. Sillä oli keulapurjeen alasvedin helpottamassa keulapurjeen laskemista, kun purjehtii yksin.

Keulapurjeen alasvedin kuulosti niin hyvältä idealta että sellainen piti rakentaa. Kuvassa näkyvä sininen noin 6 mm Biltsun halpisköysi on nyt se. Sitä on tässä kesän mittaan rakenneltu ja säädetty, ja nyt se toimii täydellisesti. Paksumpi valkoinen köysi on keulapurjeen nostin.

Keulapurjeen alasvetimen toinen pää kiinnitetään fokan toiseksi ylimpään nipsuun. Siis yhteen niistä, joilla fokka kiinnitetään keulastaagiin. Voi sen kiinnittää ylimpäänkin tai kolmanneksi ylimpään, mikä nyt parhaalta tuntuu. Köyttä ohjailemassa matkan varrella on kaksi Biltsun halpisplokia ja yksi sakkeli.

Kun keulapurje nostetaan, vedetään valkoisesta köydestä. Kun se lasketaan, autetaan painovoimaa vetämällä sinisestä. Tämä poistaa tarpeen mennä keulakannelle nykäisemään purjeen yläpää alas asti. Se on fantastinen helpotus varsinkin yksin purjehtiessa, aallokossa, kovassa tuulessa ja ihan vaan muutenkin. Laskettu keulapurje pysyy paikoillaan kannella aika kivasti kun kiristää alasvetimen ja jommankumman skuutin.

Tarinan opetus on tietysti se, että voihan niitä rullapurjeitakin veneisiin asennella ja jokainen toimikoon sillä tavalla kun hyväksi näkee, mutta keulapurjeen kätevöittämiseen on muitakin tapoja kuin semmoiset hömppäpurjeet.

Ich habe Ratschen-Spanngurte, bei denen ist auf einer Seite ein schwarzer Streifen eingewebt, damit man besser sieht, welche Seite oben ist und ob der Gurt verdreht ist. Fand das immer ganz praktisch.

Weil ich das für die Klemmschloss-Gurte meines #Lastenrad auch wollte habe ich etwas gebastelt.

Einfach zwei passgenaue Schlitze in eine Pappe und davor ein mittiges Loch für einen Edding. Stift aufsetzen und langsam durchziehen. Wie lang's hält wird sich zeigen 🤷‍♂️

Das ist besonders wichtig, wenn andere Bands die mitbenutzen. #lifehack

Wenn mir beim (An-)Lesen einer Mail sofort der Kamm schwillt, hilft es praktisch immer, die Mail erst mal wieder zu schließen und die Sache ein paar Tage liegen zu lassen. Emotional abgekühlt kann ich dann viel leichter eine neutral-sachliche Antwort geben. #Lifehack
