I just changed phone, I was happy to fund #fairphone instead of Motorola. Then I spent two days restoring tons of accounts, tokens, and apps, even after transferring my data via cable.
I'm quite sure next time it will be even worse. WTF, this is not acceptable UX. Fuck smartphones and those who create such fuck apps. This is a fucked delirium for the average user.

George, in a box-burrow in my office some years ago. This was before he got too lazy, and liked to keep an eye on me while I worked.

Oddly, he appears to be at 8:05 rather than his usual 7:05. Back in the day, he must have observed George Daylight Time, but these days he's always in George Standard Time.

I have in the past mentioned how George is Not Smart. Occasionally I'll get a response complaining about this. And I have to say, maybe they're right and I'm too quick to judge. After all, George can correctly identify which of the two humans has called him to come get a snack in only two tries almost half the time.

The fact that my "smart" thermostat is doing DNS resolution for ru.remoteapp.bdrthermea.com (hosted in UK?) makes me glad that I put it in a separate VLAN. It's doing other questionable things and it barely works in the first place, but seeing that address makes me a bit queasy in the current climate...

There's so many hardware manufacturers that completely undermine their efforts with terrible software.

Well damn, somehow the Vizio TV updated firmware and now antenna-based channels (all we use) are now part of the stupid Smart TV and the HORRiBLE interface lays on top of a simple channel change. My wife is going to HATE this…
