the 1/2 in PVC extension down the middle is not stiff enough, so I’ll probably go back and get the adapters for a 3/4 inch centerpiece instead. I am hopeful that metal near the feedpoint will not have too bad an effect.

Jeg har været på udkik efter et godt sted at sætte den #Meshtastic node som gerne snart skulle være undervejs i posten. Vores 60'er parcelhus ligger på en vej med stigning, og hvis man står det helt rigtige sted, kan man se det meste af #Aarhus.
Jeg tænkte oprindeligt på at lave et hul i taget og montere et rør til diverse antenneforsøg (det ville virkelig klæde mig at bruge min radioamatørlicens til andet end bare pynt) men jeg kunne ikke lige overskue at få det lappet ordenligt til bagefter. Teknik er sjovt - vandskade på loftet knapt så meget.
Anyhoo, lur mig om ikke der lige står den her fine ventilations-hat-ting, endda med bolte på toppen. Noden kunne faktisk monteres direkte på den, men det ville da være frækt med en art stativ der gav endnu 50-75cm højde! Ideer? :-)

Finally got to putting up the last antenna on my tower! It's the happy vertical there! I can finally do VHF/UHF from my shack now! I can manage to hit about 70 miles out from my location, so I'm pretty happy with that! Now to see if I can somehow manage to get a VHF POTA!

I finally got around to adding a mag mount antenna to my car in the last few hours before a big road trip. It's an old, unbranded¹ whip that I got as part of a mixed lot of radio gear at an estate sale last year. The integrated coax cable was long enough to go in through the back hatch, around the back seat, and up next to the driver's seat.
I had previously tested the antenna on VHF (2m) and UHF (70cm) using the main radio in my shack so I knew it worked. While on the road, I successfully used the antenna connected to my Baofeng HT to join a local weekly net in Indiana!
¹ The antenna has a label that says "Mobile Antennas & Access, Burlington, NC". I don't find any references online, so I assume they went out of business and probably never had an online presence. Has anyone heard of them?

Yesterday the weather was so nice so I decided to improve my 30m antenna. I put up a 3/8 wl. vertical made of aluminium tube and installed 16 radials.
I haven’t had too much time to compare it to my other antennas yet but the first impression is that it performs very well.

For those following along with the open source conformal method of moments wire #antenna project Arcanum, the current status as of today is:
Phase 1 complete and merged. Geometry discretization, junction semantics corrected, helix parse tests added.
Phase 2 docs fully approved. All three math blockers resolved, near-singular quadrature derived, perpendicular frame construction proved, citations corrected.
