I just finished reading the second book in the Nevermoor series, “The Calling of Morrigan Crow”. I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. Author Jessica Townsend has created a unique and imaginative magical universe full of quirky and interesting young characters, and sets a great story there. I can’t say much about plot here without spoiling the first book in the series. But I’m looking forward to the next one.

It's a glorious day that starts with a new Frances Hardinge book: UNRAVELLER. The way she world-builds is like few other authors I know: effortless, as if she doesn't much mind whether you know what's going on (although she makes sure you can figure it out.) It's fantasy & reminds me of NEVERMOOR, but it's #youngadult instead of #middlegrade. I'm in love again.
