This morning's gelli plate #printing experiment: two-part prints using a fern frond as a subject. I printed these on postcards. I'll probably polish them off with some beeswax paste I made to protect the color and use them for #postcrossing cards send to folks who like to receive artwork. Not great, but not bad for a first try. The challenge is alignment for the second part of the print. #art #MakeStuff

I sent the VLA card to someone who likes things related to space and NASA; because she was in the US, I was able to use a moon landing stamp on it. I think that's a double win.
But I have been disappointed by some of the cards I get, especially those covered with stickers. There was one I found kind of insulting, but that could be just because I hate motivational bullshit.

I just spent 20 minutes preparing three #postcards for #Postcrossing. I like to do them in batches of at least three. I've been getting a pretty steady flow of incoming postcards from all over the world and I really like that. I hang them on my fridge for a while and then put them away. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them, but it's neat to get them.😊

The sender decorated it with cool stamps and washi tape covering some of the interests on my profile, jigsaws and rollercoasters and crafts etc, and her message was lovely too.
Is it weird to think you and your #Postcrossing match would be friends irl? Cos we have cheese and knitting in common and tbh what more does a beautiful friendship need? 😅
I appreciate all the cards I've had so far, but it does feel extra special when someone matches the card to you so personally. Pride of place on the pegboard, here we come!

I now buy postcards whenever I see them for sale. I have quite a little inventory, so I can often match a card in my collection with something that a postcard collector prefers. The one in the envelope contains the front half of a note card illustrating the VLA in New Mexico; the recipient wanted space related postcards and specifically said they could be put in an envelope. Perfect match!
