Medikament raus was Frau Dr. Psychosomatik unbedingt erforderlich fand und schwupps sind die Herzrythmusstörungen weg.
Wenn ein Maler so arbeiten würde wie Neurologen, würden dauernd die Tapeten von der Wand fallen.
Aber die verordnen einfach alles wovon sie mal gehört haben, ohne Ergebnisse oder Nebenwirkungen zu prüfen. Ist ja auch egal, den Schaden haben die Patienten.
Verstehe immer besser warum viele Patientys alles über die Suppremierung hinnaus ablehnen.

Reluctantly concluding that I can’t really run anymore. The physical strain on my body is just too much as the #MS related weakness means I’m basically dragging one half of my body around rather than really running. Perhaps this should have been obvious years ago and I’m just unusually stubborn, but here it is and I’m having to adjust to losing something that’s been a huge part of my life.
Oh well. Onward. I took up rowing a few years back as this day was always likely to come. My legs are getting significantly worse at the moment, as is my balance, but I’ll try to take whatever comes in my stride and keep buggering on.
Honestly, what other choice is there?

🦠 TIL: Two specific gut bacteria may help trigger multiple sclerosis, and scientists found them using identical twins.
Researchers at LMU Munich studied 81 pairs of identical twins where only one sibling has MS. Since the twins share genetics and grew up together, differences in their gut flora become much easier to interpret. 51 microbes differed between siblings.
The real test: gut bacteria from the small intestine were transferred into germ-free mice prone to MS-like disease. Mice that got samples from the twin with MS got sick at far higher rates, and two bacteria dominated in the sick mice: Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium. Female mice were more susceptible, echoing the female predominance of MS itself.
It is early days. Only four twin pairs gave intestine samples, and the next step is testing each bacterium in isolation. But if a small number of microbes really can trigger MS, the gut becomes a target for detection and therapy.

My left ankle has lost a lot of dorsiflexion over the years and I don’t pick it up very well as I’ve lost a lot of muscle strength in that leg. Just recently, it’s been quite locked up too. Is that a thing with #MS ?
