It wasn't just disrespect, it was racism. Let this day not just be a reflection of those who served, but a day to have a conversation about racism.
Indigenous Australians served alongside non indigenous Australians in a time of no rights, and were not looked after on their return.

Every few months there is an article in the ABC about some missing infrastructure in the 'growth areas'. They never seem to address that we've knowingly grown populations in areas without infrastructure instead of growing populations in areas where there is already infrastructure.
We're building houses in the middle of nowhere and only later being surprised that these houses also need schools, trains, libraries, shops, cafes , roads and jobs.
We should be growing the areas that already have infrastructure

One year ago today, a Comeng set crosses the tram square at Glen Huntly Road on Melbourne's Frankston line.
One week ago this line reopened after almost a two month shutdown to remove this level crossing, and the nearby Neerim Road. The rail line now runs below Glen Huntly Road. The small signal box (to the left of the picture) has been abolished and dismantled.

My favourite pair of earrings I’ve made today. A wirework arch with triplet bead strands hanging below in blue and green tones.

A beautiful, sunny day in Melbourne!
Bourke Street is one of the most popular places in the city. Lots of places to sit, excellent transport access, enough shade and plenty of street activity.
“A good city is like a good party – people stay longer than really necessary because they are enjoying themselves.” (Jan Gehl)

When we humans, god species and accidental geoengineers turn our attention away from the quiet places, nature returns to perform acts of rebellion against our civilization.
Between the freeway and off ramps of #Melboune CityLink, at the junction of Racecourse Rd such acts of violence against concrete and steel are in play.
A re-wilding is taking place.
Native and invasive species are fashioning a new ecosystem. I sit and listen to the birds, witness pollinators and discern the Earth's acts of rebellion.
Grieve for the world that was.
Welcome the new nature.
Soon it will swallow our cities.
The earth abides.
