Shout-out to defying stereotypes at #GameStorm: Four of us middle-aged guys played Rebel Princess and I saw two young girls playing BattleTech. #BoardGames

GameStorm is fun as always, but we ventured into the adjacent Lloyd Center mall looking for food and boy is it grim. Almost all the shops are abandoned. A little too on the nose, the music playing in the ice rink was "we found love in a hopeless place".

I don't know how they'll resurrect this place. Transit isn't the issue; there are light rail trains every 10 minutes.

Moving on to G games with Gravwell.

Each round, you draft a hand of movement cards that pull you toward, or repel you from, the nearest object. You choose which cards to play simultaneously, in secret, and sort of rubber band your way around the spiral, hoping that your ship will fly in the direction you intended.

Our finish was a real nail-biter. Purple was one space from victory, then blue, and then finally purple crossed the finish to win.

I won a ridiculous bundle in a raffle at #GameStorm. #BoardGames #Nemesis #AliensWithTheSerialNumbersFiledOff

They had the Cartographers Deluxe Edition in the game library, so I was able to try it out.

Spatial visualization is not easy for me, especially with 9:00 pm brain, so I was surprised by how close the final scores were (79 vs. 74). My expert forestry and attention to diagonals served me well. Drawing monsters on my opponent’s map was definitely the best part. Muhuhaha

@peterdrake ‘s verdict: “Kingdom Builder, but flip and write.” Fair.
