  1. The massive strength of the Forth Bridge is obvious in this view from its northern end. It was built between 1883 and 1890 and was the first of three bridges to cross this part of the River Forth, one built in each of three centuries. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/que

  2. A triumph of over-engineering, the Forth Bridge, often called the Forth Rail Bridge since the arrival of the Forth Road Bridge: now one of three great bridges across this part of the Firth of Forth, each built in a different century. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/que

  6. Rode 'round the forth' yesterday which I've never done before (full Stirling route). Bit too hot, then torrential rain. Probably the wrong bike for the job, then again....plenty of rough, muddy sections! #stirling #cycling #forthrailbridge

  8. I've loved crossing the Forth Rail Bridge ever since I was a kid, still enjoy it as an adult. Such a wonderful combination of superb, Victorian engineering with the qualities of national landmark.

  11. Spent the weekend walking 25+km both along the Eastern and Western coasts around Edinburgh.

The Leven bird hides were a great surprise, and we shall be returning for sure throughout winter to catch the waders.
Only have ridden through the Dalmeny Estate previously, and I can say the walking of the trails is also an enjoyable time on a sunny winter’s day.

Photo tax. It’s a view I don’t think I shall ever get tired of seeing.
