Going on with the craze of using a #Linux-based live sound FX setup with #Carla plugin host…
… so I tried this on my #UbuntuStudio #Lenovo #Thinkpad #t470 but something on the system would periodically draw power. So I used the spare t470 and installed #Lubuntu on it and UbuntuStudio on top. Which sort of saves the little extra in performance. However, something still is in trouble with Carla which I have to figure out, I can't type into plugins (Lubuntu uses x11, not Wayland).
The old #FocusriteSaffire runs at 128 samples buffer via #Pipewire / using Apples #Firewire / #Thunderbolt adapter chain.
Even though I have this #Akai controller with a keyboard now, it's just too cool to use the #Steinberger #bass with the #RolandGK3 #MIDI pickup via the #Roland#GI20.
This is certainly not the easy way to do things. I will see where this will take me…
… at least I can sync config files and even sample packs for #DecentSampler with my studio desktop machine using Unison.
