On the verge of fully phasing-out my use of Fantastical… While I still like the app, it’s become increasingly difficult to justify the subscription price.

Love it when applications respect platform conventions. I had a Fantastical alert with 12 replies that I had to click OK on… and then I thought… if Command-W is Close window, and Command-Option-W is Close all windows… and that works also by Option-clicking the close button of a window… maybe Option-clicking OK will do the trick?
Sure enough, as soon as I pressed the Option key, the button changed to OK to all. Thanks, @flexibits!

Good to see @flexibits makers of Fantstical and Cardhop now on Mastodon.
Welcome to the land where Mastodons roam!
-
@mclazarus Love that you have a #Cardhop entry for it https://flexibits.com/cardhop
-
@gedeonm @KingShawn @pschiller #Cardhop by #Flexibits (makers of #Fantastical) has you covered: https://flexibits.com/cardhop
Strangely, I don’t think the company themselves are on Mastodon.

This is how you build trust with your users around #privacy on the #IxD side of things:
- Be transparent and upfront about it
- State clearly what you collect, and what you don’t collect
- Reassure users that they can change any opt-in decisions laterMost importantly, though: Follow up on your promises to demonstrate that you earn your users’ trust.
Obviously, that latter one goes way beyond a well-designed dialog box.
Well done, #Flexibits!

Jumping from $40/year to $57/year for a calendar + contacts app combo still stings, no matter how nice and frequently-updated they are. Even if it does amortize to $4.75 a month.
#Flexibits does a good job summarizing what a premium #subscription gets you, at least: https://flexibits.com/pricing

My mistake, #Flexibits did in fact email me and presumably other #Fantastical users in December that its premium subscription price would increase: “Due to #inflation and rising costs, this is the first time we have needed to increase pricing since #FlexibitsPremium launched 3 years ago. The new annual pricing will be $56.99 (US) — an increase of $1.42/month (US). Other currencies may differ slightly.”
Still a bit of a shock this morning from #Apple #AppStore, though.
-
Satisfied #Fantastical and #Cardhop customer on #Mac and #iPhone here, shocked to receive this message from #Apple today: “The developer, #Flexibits Inc., is raising the price of this subscription from $39.99 per year to $56.99 per year. Your #subscription will automatically renew for $56.99 per year starting May 9 unless you cancel at least a day before.”
Emailed the latter for an explanation. It's ridiculous to hear about a 42½ percent increase from the #AppStore rather than the #developer.

For my customer support peeps, #Flexibits is hiring a Customer Support Advisor in the US. https://flexibits.com/jobs#customer-support

@AdamChandler I’m also a delighted #Fantastical user. I wonder why nothing comes close outside of the #Apple ecosystem, though. I don’t think @ev’s wishes are uncommon, but I do think Apple users are more willing to pay for a better experience, thus making #Flexibits a more sustainable business. #Windows and #Linux users settle for cheap-to-free lowest common denominators, and that’s hard to compete against.
-
Baby steps, sure. But good to see #Mastodon getting noticed by more #app #developers. Kudos to #Flexibits.

Always nice to see things like this.
Flexibit's Mac addressbook replacement, CardHop, just updated and two of the changes are:
* Added support to add Mastodon usernames to a contact card
* Added support to detect Mastodon usernames in the parser input -
The (unfortunately) great #calendar app #Fantastical by #Flexibits is increasing its subscription price by 43% ($39.99 → $56.99) next year 😳. I already found the current subscription price expensive for a calendar app, but now I'm really looking for an alternative. Glad to hear your suggestions & retoots are welcome!
My use case: Managing different calendars (#CalDAV & Microsoft Exchange). -
