  1. “The original version of this article has been retracted. I used an #LLM to write the #FirstDraft, though this had come after many hours of planning and going through the data and analyses to identify the points to be made, as well as me going through the post line by line, editing into my voice and verifying the wording and scope of the text was accurate. However, many people still felt like the #LLMSpeak bled through in ways that felt uncomfortable. Given this, I and other members of the #RustProject have decided to retract the post in its entirety.”

    Good writing is hard. It is also a metric used to measure a writers abilities to identify and express ideas. In software I use it as a yard stick. No issues expressing a mea culpa.

  7. Another sketch of cowboys from this minute. It is messy, i know. #Firstdraft #ballpoint is a little foreign to me.

  8. I'm working on a spin-off series from my Detective Jud Jeffreys books. Might end up being novellas, not sure. I only began 9 days ago and have over 25000 words in my first draft done. Smooth going for once.

  13. It burns between my fingers. The cold, dry air, and the stress of trying to stay financially afloat have really been getting to my psoriasis. On the plus side...I've been staying pretty consistent with my writing. I'm over 68k words in #ShadowedMemories part 2 so far. Getting to a rough spot with an action scene that's getting ready to take place. They always slow me down so much, because I worry about not capturing them well enough, clear enough.

  14. #WordWeavers 2/8. Share the first thing your characters would see, feel and hear if they went outside in the last indoor scene you wrote.

    <snip>
    We were fortunate in being able to skirt the worst of the ruins and, according to Shishi, the worst of the hauntings. None the less, we sometime passed ruined dwellings where we would hear agonized screams, or voices pleading for food, water, or just for relief from their suffering. We kept up a steady stream of chanting, taking turns so our voices wouldn’t give out.

    And then there were the geckos. The first time we spotted one of the pale creatures peering at us, I almost shrieked. These were the first animals I had seen outside the vicinity of the Mayioga. They would skitter just out of sight, only allowing us to glimpse them occasionally. They were especially thick near military buildings, or burned-out military vehicles. The sight of them seemed to rattle Tomo even further.
