No Meta, Google or Microsoft installed.

hay peoples of the mastoland, I have a little feddy question for yee all. I have noticed that some people have a colon(:) after there name followed by some sort of thing that looks like it is meant to represent something. I am curious as to weather clients are meant to do something with this. I have listed some examples below. Is this just something people are meant to know or is it something that clients are meant to do something with?:

@mcrocker @Goldmaster @dansup https://bsky.brid.gy/ @peertube is basically youtube for #fediverce so for longer landscape type content. Loops is basically for short form tiktok like content

I'm skeptical that the current #fediverce norms about #cw are going to hold up with a larger userbase filled with normies.

I feel bad for the established community here, but this is one of the things I suspect will change over the coming months if #mastodon continues to thrive. I also anticipate a lot of gnashing of teeth about this change.

I like the #fediverce because I can learn from people of different backgrounds than mine, different life.

Being here on and off since 2017 and planning to stay a little longer this time :blobcatcool:

So happy to see so many new faces, opinions etc...

@adamdavidson can you share any details on how many servers are blocking your server? (fraction of all servers?, weighted by users?)

that might just be a design feature of the #fediverce that some folks just want or need a “quiet room” as home server where the established standards of _lots_ of CWs are required.
