    I found 3 bunnies looking to the left (north) in the clouds before sunrise. I feel extra lucky today.

  7. I hardly care about spoilers. I engage with #stories, to a large extent, in order to appreciate the craft, #symbolism, and #essence. Not really the plot per se. In light of this, to learn spoiler-ish information in advance sometimes is even helpful.

  8. "The Lonely Man on the Cliff," Pelle Swedlund, 1928.

    Swedlund (1865-1947) was a Swedish artist known for his landscapes and cityscapes, especially of the Belgian city of Bruges.

    Here he's taken us to a real place, Högklint, a dramatic limestone headland on the Swedish island of Gotland. A simple scene of a single figure standing atop the headland serves as a vehicle for the rich colors of the setting sun. The single figure has a downcast head, and the loneliness of the scene, and the setting sun, give it a strong melancholy air.

    Swedlund had some success early on as an artist, and later became the curator of Stockholm's Thiel Gallery until just before his death.

  9. "Sun," Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, 1904.

    Pellizza (1868-1907) was an Italian painter known for a highly individual style called "Divisionism," which was a sort of cousin to Pointillism (lots of itty bitty dots), only Divisionism had the dots grouped to color theory, so they formed actual patches of color.

    Living almost entirely in Italy, he was educated in Rome and Florence, among other places, before returning to his home town of Volpedo, when he started adding "da Volpedo" to his signature.

    He struggled for recognition all his life; many times his works were greeted with confusion and dismissal. He did manage an important sale in 1907 but then his wife died suddenly, plunging him into a deep depression that led to death by suicide.

    After his passing, publication of his art in various Socialist magazines in Italy and elsewhere led to to recognition he was denied in life, and now critics recognize him as a significant artist.

  10. The Stellar #Lunarpunk #TTRPG can take its toll. We've been assigning #meaning & #symbolism to everything from numbers to letters of the alphabet. "L" means lose & when you get an 'L' typo, you bet it can feel like mockery! It's worse when it accidentally makes sense (because it's just a typo, it doesn't ACTUALLY mean anything) so we are trying (and failing) to retrain to think "L" is for "Love" or "Life" but mostly "Love" but it may be too late ;_;

  11. One of the symbolic punishments for Masonic treatment speaks of a place where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-four hours, and where historically traitors were left to nature's wrath for their crimes.

    Two major stretches of water do not give this common movement of tides, the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Mexico.

  12. It is no coincidence that the mandorla — the almond-shaped halo around Christ or the Virgin Mary — mirrors the vulva’s form. Named after the Italian for “almond,” it symbolises the threshold between worlds, the sacred gateway through which divine light and incarnation enter the human realm.
